I think it's a fun, inexpensive plug and play device if you're not too demanding about the quality of emulations. A nice alternative for the Pandora's Box console, with joystick included that you also can use on pc. I found the buttons quite noisy, specially with shoot 'em ups. The 4:3 aspect ratio option still doesn't work (I have firmware version 2.0 2024-02-10, SEGAM-M8-v7.0 ) so you have to set this up on your monitor or tv, if you can. For me, the biggest let down are the vertical arcade games that are stretched out horizontally (even with 4:3 aspect ratio). I haven't been able to find any mod from the community that improves the software for this device. If there is, please let me know.

The fact that it uses old micro usb for power tells me that it is probably that; an old android TV stick an they just flash the Pandoras box style os
Most of these products are built from salvage, basically repurposed e-waste. Designing a product with more RAM and a DAC for audio would probably triple the price, because they would have to design something from scratch.
I ordered this set for 15 usd on a local online shopping app thinking it was the same one you reviewed before that didn't have the annoying glitches when you set the screen ratio to 4:3 as I thought it was a cheap solution for a fighting game emulator with an arcade stick. Now I'm worried that I'll be getting this version instead. Maybe I should've went with my original plan of getting a Pandora Box 40s 3D Arcade Stick. Edit / Update: Received this today and I got this exact version with the glitching 4:3 ratio. Emulation is good but I could tell that this lacks emulation power even when playing 2D fighting games like SF2, X-Men CoTA, Marvel Super Heroes and KoF. The Player 1 stick has an issue when I do the shouryukens, the stick is hit and miss though more on miss, but the Player 2 stick does it just fine. And yes, the button spacing is crap. The buttons are too far away in between and the buttons doesn't have a satisfying button click. What I hate the most is, since the arcade controllers are light, when playing fighting games on a non-glass table top where the suction cups should hold the controller in place, the controllers either lifts on the side or it tips over and moves all over the place. Mine came with a 64GB TF Card with 21,000+ games. You can't access or edit DIP switches on arcade games. Will definitely sell what I got and just order a Pandora Box. Definitely stay away from this one if you don't want to waste your money. If you're thinking that you could just use the controllers on another system, just get the PXN Arcade controller or something better. This is only fine if you will only play games like Metal Slug. Also, there are games like Raiden and Raiden DX variants will emulate but I cannot start a game no matter what button I press.
I kept the controllers for an android box and just chucked the 4k lite stick... Wasnt able to get retroarch working on it so it didnt do me any good...
Question on many of these sticks you review.. What do they use for a front end and how does one go and rebuild one due to a corrupt sd card? Friend of mine got one for his kids and I warn him the sd cards are junk and to back it up...well he didn't follow my warning and the card is now corrupt and can't play it so he reach out to me. If I know what they are using I can rebuild a new sd card for him or if someone has made an image of the sd card to make a new one. I only care about the front end, roms aren't the issue here but be a bonus if included hehehe.
You need custom graphic audio plug ins selection.All my emulators ned kther custom plug-ins not stock ones to gst crt perfect almost. You need over clocking futures some times so on.Most emulators boxes that dos not run custom mame orvretro roach keg,so on emulators that you can download custom stuf to get perfect emulation on a box.a desk top pc is best.i only game on my huge full size desk top with tons ram more power than all these boxes put together. You can play most systems at max out settings. That you can not get with any box.
How difficult is it for them to pull together an alphanumeric ROM set ??! FFS … literally every list of ROM collections on the internet is already conveniently in alphanumeric order 🤷♀️
Chinese products are often multilingual. The Pandora's Boxes for example actually have the ROMs in Chinese, but when you select English the names auto translate. That's why some of the game names on Pandora's Box are so weird.
I bought this and had to return it because the controller will constantly disconnect making it unplayable.

With these chaep sticks it's always problems with Pi software is so much better with performance.

All the game songs cant be more then a couple gigs for every game

When I looked on Ali, 1 stick version is $30 and 2 stick version is $48 and this is pretty good for a cheap price.
And I just checked and they're $21/37. Just depends how much they want to make room for their next shipment
