- Our mission begins in Salzburg with a dodgy taxi-bike ride to the KTM factory in Mattighöfen. There, we collect two 1290 Super Duke GTs and start the adventure to the Red Bull Ring. The grass is fed to livestock, mostly milk cows. It's cheaper to have them all bunched up in a building and feeding them directly than to gather them every day from the field for milking. Great video! Really like hearing you two chit chat.

wow that looked like a peaceful place to stay but you know there must be something creepy that goes on in a small village like that haha all the grass is so perfect the houses all clean and proper it makes people stay there but not everyone leaves haha

Every time I see your touring vids, I go looking for an adventure bike then I remember that Australia is boring as shit to ride between capital cities (apart from a couple mountain roads). Wish I lived in Europe.

I've been riding mine for a month now. It's a most amusing ride. To my ear, the Baron sounds like a perfect synthesis of two of my favourite characters: Alan Partridge meets Guy Secretans. Only smarter. Way smarter.

the grass in the field is probably being cut to feed cows kept indoors its called zero grazing. Stay tuned for more farming info love your stuff guys keep it going !!

the grass cutting is for silage id have thought( decomposed grass that is used for feeding livestock or you can sell it)

you probably smelt in the alps what they do with the grass: stock it up to feed the cows during the winter months and then scoop up a big pile of cow manure right below your window, to make your morning start with a fresh and funky feeling :) that's why i love the alps: there's no way you won't smell some fresh poo in the air wherever you wake up

Normally dual vlog's are for want of a better word......a bit shit,but this was brilliant.That intercom thingy is the dog's......great video lads keep'em coming.The reason the grass is cut is because the farmers cut it and bring it to the cows in the barn back at the farm yard,thats what that guy at 11:10 was doing.....it's called "zero grazzing".btw what happened to the snowcat meet-up?
They are cutting the lawn 4 times a year an feed it to their cows to get this pretty special milk, alter in the year, at her the fourth time cutting the lawn, the cows are actually go out an eat the lawn directly.

In Switzerland if the owners keep their fields clean and tidy they get money from the government to support their activities. Besides (I'm not sure about it) if you don't look after your property like letting hedges overgrow you can get fined.

My mate lived in Northern Italy (Alpine, German speaking area) and he tells me that if you don’t trim yours lawn etc. your neighbours will call the cops on you... that’s how they roll; immaculate or GTFO.

Fun fact: see means lake and winkel means shop. Besides that I have no clue why they'd call their hotel lakeshop lol.
Because 'Winkel' also means 'angle' and since the hotel has a view of the lake... For those interested, the hotel is located in Fuschl am See in land Salzburg.

Super duke is a super naked, the GT is much more touring orientated
Q. How did you Shield the Seat from the Heat of the Engine.? It's a Pain in the Arrs after about an hour. Tried the Aluminum Heat 'Roofing' Insulation but that didn't work. Love the Bike but definitely not the Engine Heating up the Seat... I prefer my Eggs 'Uncooked' and the HEAT from this Engine definitely Boils them after only an hour or less of riding. Definitely need better Insulation. Maybe an Aluminum Heat Shield inside my Pants... KTM 'HELP'...

sometimes its not alway's convenient to walk the milking cows to the field,especially if the field is near a town.....thats why it is cut and brought back to the barn
Grass is harvested and fermented to make silage, more nutritious for the bovines!
