This is perfect, thank you for this video! I have been learning this on my own, but it's obviously a difficult exercise to master without some good hints.
Every skill is difficult to master on wheels unless you have a clear series of exercises to follow which take you from "easy steps" to "more advanced steps" and finally putting it all together. This is my speciality and I think learning without these steps is the long and hard and often painful way of learning anything. I'm glad it helps.
I love your videos so much because you go right into business. Other tutorials are filled with chitchat they put out 10 minute videos with only a minute worth of content while every minute of your videos are worth it. I hope youre doing well and that you continue to teach us with these concise but informative tutorials thank you so much i improved a lot because of you
Oh that is a good idea. I'll try and do this next time Im filming. I do have 2 tutorials ready to edit and time is ticking...... good suggestion, thanks.
I'm not dancing much on inlines at the moment. Since my rediscovery of quads during the pandemic I'm choosing quads over inlines for dancing just because that's an easier option and I dedicate dance time once a week and inlines the rest of the time. BUT you can watch and use any of my quads dance videos and just adapt to inlines. My theories and teaching are almost identical for both skates and I have both skaters in all my classes. So watch my quads/roller skating playlist and copy on your inlines.... Will work I promise.
I'm glad you like this one Amit. The good thing with the different progressions is that a lot of them still look really good when done in time to music even if they aren't the complete skill. It can also look really great to have 3-5 skaters skating next to each other at the same speed, even holding hands or shoulders and then they do it together like a synchro dance step. This is super fun to work on and everyone can do the version they are happy with.....and it still looks great! Let me know how it goes. Did you know that I edited this video ALL myself? Even an old dog can learn new tricks right?
SkatefreshAsha are you kidding me?! You did it all by yourself?! Duuuuck, unbelievable!!! It's great, amazing - well done girl! I'm super happy to see your progressions, always moving forward! That's GREAT news Amit, well done you and them for "getting it". What's great is that its a move that looks fantastic in synchro with others doing it at the same time and even if someone is a few progressions before the end they can still participate so it's very inclusive. I knew you'd be impressed with my editing. It's still basic baby steps, but you know how big this is for me! If I can learn to edit videos than anyone can learn to do ANYTHING right?

@@SkatefreshVideos 👍Hello wassup, I am REALLY liking these Powerslide Next 110 triskates. They are fast. I have been practicing the powerstop, and learning how to control my speed in them. Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. As long as it is an inline skate it is made for pavement. There are many brands, the most recognized ones are Powerslide, Rollerblade, K2, Roces, Seba, etc. More important than the brand it's the type of skate and how comfortable it feels.
Ahhh aquele giro o spin foi boa naquele dia...... uma roda de frente com outra roda de calcanhar, 50% em cada. Seria bom fazer um videozinho. vou botar na lista. Obrigada.
I wonder if anyone has tried to do this on ICE skates? It looks pretty cool but more than a bit of a challenge for MY semi-intermediate skills! If anyone has a video of someone doing it on ICE I'd like to see it...
Yes indeed you can (I call it 'Continuous alternate Crossunders') but it would be best named as Backward Stroll. The progressions to nailing it backwards would be identical to all the forward progressions, but mainly get the forwards Stroll nailed and that will help you learn it backwards.
Hello, I am new to inline skating, teaching myself... When I scissor my legs I turn opposite to the front leg..(left leg in front i turn right!)! Why is it so? Thank you
Welcome to skating! When you scissor the left leg in front notice how your hips and waist will slightly turn to the right. This is what is causing your right turn. However left leg forwards turning right is actually the Anti-parallel turn and potentially quite risky for a beginner because its normal for the front skate to turn more than the back skate and then the back skate can roll into the front skate and trip you up. Some people like you however do this more risky turn naturally. But I encourage you to do the pure parallel turn first, left leg forwards, till your skates to the left and turn to the left. At first it may not happen easily but try to aim for only 45 degrees of curve, then 90 degrees and finally 180 degrees. Most people go for the full 180 turn in their first attempt and that usually doesn't work. Every skill needs to be learned gradually. That's the basis of all my teaching. Good luck!
Thank you Asha for your kind reply, i wish i was in your area to have some courses with you, you really seem like an awesome caring instructor. Wish you all the best!
Yes unfortunately I can't be everywhere.... But I'm working on a new website which will give everyone access to my professional online video courses for free so you can see what its like to have my class at a distance. All my info, all my exercise progressions and corrections of common problems, all in your hands. I even teach my online students how to video themselves and how to correct their basic flaws (as if I'm looking). People are really succeeding with learning new skills from scratch just m following my online courses. It's a proces but its working and Imd delighted. I'll be announcing here soon. Charbel Gharyos
Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. Yes, you do. In fact, I use this move to lose speed when I am coming to a red light. You lose momentum because when you are in the final stage you actually should place your skates diagonally to give this move more fluidity. Check how Asha does it at the end to see this. Any diagonal position will make you lose momentum. Slalomers use this move and others but they don't lose momentum because most of them ride rockered frames and the momentum is generated not by striding but by transferring their weight from one foot to the other and from front to back wheels (and viceversa).
Hola.
That's a very good question....and hard to answer quickly. The quick answer is "confused British". I'm British (both parents from Sussex) but I was born in Tanzania and then lived in Mexico, the USA and (very rural) Ecuador by the time I was 5 (that's why I speak spanish). I've been living in the UK since we moved back there in the 80s. I started to artistic skate when I was 10. I lived in Brazil for 1 year when I was 18 (that's how I speak portuguese) I spend my winters in Brazil because I have no work in Europe over the winter. I now work online with my InlineSkateCourse.com website of online video trainings.
SkatefreshAsha Haha! Far from it. When I'm practicing this new skill to music, instead of counting 1, 2, 3, 4, to the beat, I say Skate, Fresh, Asha, Babe. Amazing teacher you are. Foremost an amazing teacher.
You are right, this isn't hugely complex, but even more advanced skaters could struggle with the full crossing under and many many people only cross under on one side. Also the outside edge shown in the final demo is the 'icing on the cake' and not everyone gets that, so this move has a lot of "polishing" aspects.
My TH-cam videos are "rough and ready" which means I don't have the time or finances to do them professionally. My paid online video course trainings are a whole other story and I use a professional team of videographers and sound engineers to produce perfect footage. TH-cam is free and for that reason I can't invest too heavily in it. My content, the exercise progressions and my teaching methodology is the real value here. I apologise it isn't perfect but those skaters who pay for my full length professional content benefit from the super high quality of my products.
Can you please upload more dance moves? I'm trying to get more variety into my jam skating and this move is exactly the thing I need.

Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. It definitely can be done with brake attached. I do it all the time. You need to bend your knees, that's it.
First: You're a total babe. Second: You're a fantastic skater.
Thank you. Twice. Is my teaching crap then?
SkatefreshAsha Haha! Far from it. When I'm practicing this new skill to music, instead of counting 1, 2, 3, 4, to the beat, I say Skate, Fresh, Asha, Babe. Amazing teacher you are. Foremost an amazing teacher.
Rob hahahahah that's good you have your priorities straight x
Shouldn't be a problem for an experienced skater, but anyway nice lesson. Thank you!
You are right, this isn't hugely complex, but even more advanced skaters could struggle with the full crossing under and many many people only cross under on one side. Also the outside edge shown in the final demo is the 'icing on the cake' and not everyone gets that, so this move has a lot of "polishing" aspects.
Nice asha...
Please more video un spanish :/
Is this filmed on a potato ? :p
تکنیکت زیبا خودت زیباتر ok
And what's up with all the glitches..?
My TH-cam videos are "rough and ready" which means I don't have the time or finances to do them professionally. My paid online video course trainings are a whole other story and I use a professional team of videographers and sound engineers to produce perfect footage. TH-cam is free and for that reason I can't invest too heavily in it. My content, the exercise progressions and my teaching methodology is the real value here. I apologise it isn't perfect but those skaters who pay for my full length professional content benefit from the super high quality of my products.
I love your videos but I won't lie, that constant flickering is very distracting and makes it hard to watch.
Quality is a mindset, not something you do or don't. But yes, content is king.
A microphone would be appreciated..
Thank you
Asha como faz o giro que fez no final do vídeo com o patins traxart freedom em São Paulo SP na avenida Paulista ?
Thank you
