These things will go down in motorsports history for sounding so brutal..I'm glad I'm around to experience it while its racing
C6R and C7R NA engines are pretty damned awesome too! But these are awesome. Similar to the 458 when it was running. I’m going to miss these days.
@Onion Baht As good and brutal as the Vettes sound they don't have the loudness and scream like the RSR does that travels through the air like the start of the clip. Even watching IMSA broadcasts it's not hard to tell when the RSR is near and its all from a 6 banger lol. Will be taking in the sound of the C7R next year in its finally year though, unfortunately I don't think the C8R will be close to as good as the 7

Yup. Went to Le Mans last year where they changed the exhaust and never forgot it. I never cared for the 911 sound until then. I also had the opportunity to attend the 6 Hours of Fuji this year... Nice to have six of these things flying around instead of just two

Matt B That’s part of it but also because they want to wait until the road car is launched. Like they did with c7r both were revealed at the same time.
Even these videos don't do it justice compared to the in person experience.
Sounds more like an F1 car, than an F1 car.
Has a more free flowing exhaust is all it is plus its a Flat 6amd not a V6.

You know, I was never a big Porsche guy, but ever since that exhaust upgrade last year, I can't get enough. And all of a sudden, these RSRs look great to me now. Funny how the mind tricks itself for pleasure, lol. Thanks for sharing! I love your IndyCar stuff, and this is just sweet.
This IS Porsche's 'Sound of Sebring'! The absolute 'King' of the 911 bathtubs. Wish the C8's had that sound....and the performance!

Yeah they ran the throw back livery at the Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta last October and it was still like that for this test session.

I'll be in St. Pete for Indycar during the official WEC test but if I hear about Toyota or some of the other teams testing before that I'll be there.

If you own a race team that they deem capable of racing the car competitively you can pick one up from Porsche Motorsport in Weissach, Germany for about $1.1 million, though last I heard they had sold all the ones built.

Yeah I'm sure that includes a spares package and engineering support at the races.
