    So appreciate these explanations of individual layers! We visited the canyon's south rim national park today, so these videos are that much more valuable in understanding what we saw.

    When i remember that plate tectonics wasn’t taught in most geology classes when i was in college, i feel a bit, well, dated. But, nobody knew what a PC was, either and nobody had an iPhone.

      Yeah, I did this trip last month to go to a memorial in Flagstaff where I went to grad school. Look for more on Grand Canyon rocks over next few weeks.

    Very interesting. I enjoyed seeing the map of the position of the continents while explaining the origin of the Limestone and your talk on Chert which having formed out of
    precipitation of minerals plus pressure and heat can result in glass-like rock fascinates me. You often make reference to Cuartzite, I wonder if you have a video with a close up look at some examples there-abouts ?

      I feature quartzite in some other videos such as the Great Unconformity and maybe a few others. It's so common that its likely to pop up in more videos too.

    i might have watched too many videos, as i comment in my mind "why is he showing those small deposits when there is whole bed above...."
