The lyric of this song tells the emotions of a traveller returning to his hometown to find everything remained unchanged including his memories of everything he enjoyed with his family and his special friend “you”. He had not forgotten anything. His love remained unchanged.
Many listeners who have left hometown, travelled far for a length of time would most likely be able to understand the lyric. However, to me the voice of Zhou Shen and the way he sang it truly evoked the sentiment of nostalgia. I suddenly felt the longing to return to the places I grew up. I recalled the memories of old days and felt like it was just yesterday when all that happened. In these memories (in this world) I found my parents, a bit of my grand parents because they passed away when I was still very young. I found my school friends whom I had lost touched with. I found my siblings and recalled the good and hard times we had. Now, I get in touch with them and check they’re all good and happy.
Zhou Shen indeed, has a special and unique way of singing a song to subtly direct listeners to appreciate life and its surroundings. Once again, sincere gratitude to Zhou Shen for this beautiful song. 🙏🤗💖🌻
