I have owned the Q2n-4K and the predecessor Q2n for a few years. They're useful. Better mics than cameras. The lens claims to be f2.8, which is reasonably fast in 'real' camera terms, but because of the tiny objective lens and tiny sensor, these handy cams need a lot of light. They burn through AA batteries fast, so the optional extended battery pack is, in my uses, a must. I find it is happier as a 1080p device than a 4K device. Nice job with your video. Keep making content.
Thanks, David. That’s good info to know about the battery pack. Like you mentioned, it has been my observation also that the mics are really good in almost any situation, but the camera does better with plenty of light. Overall, I really like this unit.

It has been a long time since I used it that way, so I don't remember exactly, but can't be more than 30 minutes. The extended pack (4 AA) gives you an hour or a little more. I tend to use a USB power bank and plug in to the micro USB input. And this isn't an issue only with the Zoom -- pretty much any small camera like this will run batteries down quickly shooting video.
Is this good for recording cover songs? I want a crystal clear recording of songs even in outdoor. Someone here, pls answer my question. Thanks in advance
Thanks for the demos. I don't see much difference in video quality among the multiple size and frame rate settings. That's a good thing. But I think the review would have been more useful if it also showed the various field-of-view options and scene/shooting modes. The full range of what the camera offers. Reason why: I'm seriously thinking of getting one of these as a simpler way to shoot my solo performance videos (banjo) both for TH-cam and for evaluation by my online teachers at ArtistWorks. My current setup of Canon DSLR with external audio (AT2020 mic into Fostex recorder) is way too cumbersome. Recently I shot with an iPad and audio to a Tascam DR-05. Much simpler. But I like the features and options of the Q2n-4K. For example, I'd just as soon shoot at 720. I don't need 4K. If you can make a follow-up video using the Zoom in other modes, I'd like to see that. Question: From what distance did you record? Thanks.
@@kpnorkin The camera was 6 to 7 feet away. You are correct that I’m more in depth review would be more informative. I do have a variety of live music videos on the channel taken with the zoom. The trouble with those is that I was performing and couldn’t go through the different settings for demonstration purposes. Planning a follow-up video is a great idea.

Shooting with my iPad in selfie video mode last week, I could have it close enough to touch the screen from my seated position. That's a nice capability. But I don't think the iPad's audio compares to the Zoom, which is why I'd still need an external recorder.
@ It does not work by remote. I set it and walk away. For recordings of any length, I either hook it up to a battery pack or plug it into an AC outlet, use the largest SD card that works (can’t remember the size right now), and there are no worries about storage space or running out of power. It does not run on batteries very long at all, especially on 4K. If there is a disappointing feature, that’s it. And also the small screen doesn’t give you the most accurate representation of what is in the field of view when recording at far distances. Even so, I don’t think you can beat this recorder for the money. If I wanted to be that fancy, I could spend thousands of dollars on really awesome cameras. But I’m not trying to do that.😂 And yes, the audio far exceeds anything the iPad can do. If you look at some of my live videos of the Houston Brass Band, you can hear the audio.

When you plug a external mic in does it cut out the built in mic?
I haven’t tried that yet, but my understanding is that it overrides the internal mic. I need to test that feature!
Can this camera attach to any tripod?
Yes. Any camera stand/tripod with the standard screw (1/4” if I remember correctly) will work.
