My Fear for Oklahoma is that the outside narrative is that the program is so bad that players dont want to transfer there to play anymore unless they're paid.. I dont think the Brand is as attractive as other brands right now, and i dont think OU is wanting/willing to spend money on the big time guys, and would rather go for guys that are looking for an opprotunity, as opposed to a check. I get the mindset, but Im not sure if its contusive to winning football games in the SEC. Look at Ole Miss right now they are raiding the portal, So are Tech and LSU. Maybe the staff is now indecisive on who to offer because of all the misses in last years portal and dont trust themselves, everyone but Febechi Nwaiwu, Damonic Williams, and eventually Michale Tarquin were bust, and when we needed them, they were not there. I think the staff is trying to evaluate better but are missing out this time due to not offering soon enough or offering enough upfront.
Brand name doesn’t matter anymore! Everyone is having to pay, if you don’t these kids are headed somewhere else even your own team, that’s why Saban left Alabama because he couldn’t get a discount anymore! A lot of these kids want to make as much now because the NFL is no guarantee Ole Miss Tech & LSU has a lot of players their over paying for Kiffin did the same thing last year and wasn’t any better IMO 🤷🏻♂️ Tech needed to spend some more money they weren’t very good and LSU wasn’t much better either… we were just 1 component OC from having at least 2,3 or even 4 wins! It sucks when 8 of 16 teams in the SEC seem to be getting 5 stars left and right
At this point I miss the old college football and would much rather watch them go 6-6, 7-5 with a bunch of guys that want to be there
