You are amazing, thank you! I've been stuck after 43, starting back at 41 and I was to the point of giving up. Flipping in up and working from there solved everything.
Wow, great, I've been dying to give this project a try for some time, but I thought I'd never succeed without help...and now though it's in a foreign language to me I seem to get the help I needed! With som icelandic wool in nearly the same colour as the original I'm positive I'll get it done, thanks to your exceedingly helpful video. I only wonder if it will be a suitable size but no matter, it will be a laugh! Thanks a lot!!!
This is such an amazing video, thank you for making it! I've been eyeing this pattern and the comments on Ravelry and concluding I'll never be able to do it - you've given me the confidence to try 🎉 I'm intrigued at when you yarn over and yarn under - on some of the triples I thought I saw you alternating whether you used YU or YO. Was that deliberate or just inadvertent? Which do you recommend for this pattern? Thank you!
I am glad! It’s definitely a big project and takes a while to get through if you take multiple breaks like me 😅 As to the YU/YO, I didn’t really pay much attention I’m afraid, my hands kind of do their own thing when I get in the swing of things. I say do what feels most comfortable, see how it looks, if you don’t like it, try the other way. There were many times I frogged this thing and started over when it wasn’t looking right. I wish you all the best in your crafting!! Have fun 😁
13:3413:34 I’m almost done - thanks to your help with the eyebrow row - but at rnd 86 there are two things I still can’t understand What is the purpose of the short rows? Do they help the hat lean properly? And why is it so HUGE!!!! Does it just make room for the sword or something? Shoot I’m a grown up and the hat practically swallows my head!! On an 11-yr-old it would feel like being swallowed by a whale!
Hey there! I do believe the short rows are meant to help the hat lean properly. When I got to the end, I also noticed how large and floppy the hat ended up being. my solution was to crochet and attach a Beanie insert and then fill the hat with stuffing to help it stay up. I show what it looks like at the end of this video. I can't speak to what the original artist intended when creating the pattern, but perhaps it is meant to be more for decor than to wear. I hope this helps.
@@SussySays Thank you! I like the idea of stuffing to avoid the point looking like a droopy somethin' and I really like the idea of the beanie. I'm thinking halfway through the second wrinkle - about rnd 68 - will be a good place to attach it. I'm looking forward to finishing it tonight! Just six more rounds!
@@SussySays I like the idea of stuffing the tip so you can chose how it leans & I REALLY like the idea of the beanie so you can chose how far down the face it covers if it will be worn. I'm attaching mine at round 68 halfway through the second wrinkle... I hope it works! Thanks for your help!

I’m glad I could help! It’s definitely a tricky pattern to read at some points
Thank you so much for this video!! My crochet project is saved! 😁

I’m using mine as decor! Making it a tree topper for the Christmas tree! Just another idea :)
