I don't really like Black Metal, at least not much... BUT this is... let me spell it properly, with eloquent bolds... A M A Z I N G. Not to say that everything else is shit (I enjoy a lot of Avantgarde or stuff like Deathspell Omega) but this beautiful, menacing, truely vicious.. Also a lot of people have moaned about the production. I don't usually go mad for basement-recorded crappy sounding stuff, but the raw quality here fits perfectly, it feels much more evil.
Attila is the best vocalist Mayhem could have. Dead is gone, and Maniac fucking sucks. Mayhems music is much more evil in sound and on stage with Attila.
I saw yesterday their show in Prešov, SVK. Excellent performance, Hellhamer was as exact as the swiss watches are- in my opinion, he´s one of the best drummers on the metal scene ever. Also Attilla nad Morfeus are the great contributions

dead was the best voice of mayhem but i agree with orrski87. attila is way better than maniac.
