Kennedy Smith i think he means shes not a master of all those instruments (say, the way a classical pianist is; she knows notes and can find them on the piano and sing and play but isnt at the same comfort level as a classical pianist training for over a decade), and she probably cant do complicated licks on the guitar, etc. doesnt mean shes bad by any means it just means vocals are her main focus and she treats instruments more as accompanying instruments instead of learning advanced techniques on them. but she knows the basics and being able to sing and play with them adds a level of intimacy to her performances

this version just break me everytime i listen to it. as a depressed and suicidal person, it means a lot to see one of my favorite singers telling her story and what she has been through. i'm proud of her and so glad she's still with us today. also, seeing finneas standing there, watching his sister singing such a powerful song is just incredible. i'm sure he's a great brother.

It'd been almost a month since I stopped showing up to work.
It was my birthday and only one person remembered.

And I was learning to play this song.
At that moment, it was the only goal that didn't feel impossible.

I’m so glad billie didn’t go through with this intention. Look at where she is now. It all would’ve never happened. We’re all so grateful that we have billie and we love her. If you feel like this at all think of what you’d miss out on. Think of it, you could grow so much just like she did. This song, even the fact that it exists is not going to make children wanna commit it like some parents might think, the fact that shes here to get the song out can be and is so inspiring. Billie you will most likely never see this but if you do i love you and anyone who is seeing this i hope you will wake up with a smile on your face and fall asleep thinking of the people you love and the great person you are.
When you have nothing to that brings you joy. no prospects. nobody to lean on. Everyone you love leaves. Its hard to think of all the positive things you want in life and could be missing out on when you are already trying so hard and failing so miserably.

This is the first song I ever heard from Billie Eilish. When I heard it, the meaning - the pain and sadness and loneliness and yearning - cut right through to the heart of me. So true, as a music teacher i have gone through the lyrics between her and her brother and i have heard some interviews where billie says what lyrics she wrote that she preferred Etc and she said some of the deeper and more philosophical lyrics of her songs… and she was very young and she wrote them .. Now I cant wait to hear songs written only by her , her brother said that in the next albums there will be songs written only by her … what I know is that this song was almost/ all written by her, she has been writing songs since she was 11 and finished at 10 years songwriter class and wrote several songs by herself … i heard the one dedicated to her dead friend famous rapper : xxxtentation .. “16.8.8 “ … 💔 WOW… this song … i cried through the whole song … if you haven't heard it listen to it .. her live with fans in silence.. The unpopular opinion is to think that Billie DOESN'T have amazing music. Ask ANY actual artist in the industry and they will tell you that Billie's and Finneas music is top notch level. That's why she has artist of all different eras and genres attend her live shows and listen to her music.

It's a bittersweet feeling to me. In the studio version it has such a huge impact on the song and I feel like it could have worked here too. But this performance overall was too delicate for that bass drop. I loved it either way.
