Thank you for watching! I am glad it can help! There were so many price increases of all different levels it is nice to have the information all in one place!
Holy Moly - that's crazy!! We've done dining plans before & paid to top up for a character meal (& eaten in mcdonalds in the village) - the food at the Princess dining is also not very child friendly so even more not worth that insane cost. Thanks for summing this up x
It is great that with the dining plan you are able to book character dining and just top up the cost and a super helpful way to do it! I have heard other people also say the food at Auberge isn't very child friendly which is such a shame because with the price tag you want both the experience and food to be amazing for everyone! I think with the new pricing they really need to improve the food for kids and make the characters you need consistent to justify the price!
I honestly think with how much my trip cost to disneyland Paris in a couple of weeks (especially with the meal plan) I'd rather save up a bit more and go back to disney world instead 😅
Visiting Disneyland Paris in high season the costs can be so astronomical!! It is so true that it can feel like should I just wait a bit longer and save for Florida? 😂 Although my recent trip to Disney World was rescheduled from 2020 and was more than double the original amount! So Disney World costs have escalated even more quickly than Disneyland Paris it seems! Although these price increases are unlike anything I have seen in any Disney Park!
@Most Magical Guides Florida is definitely worth it though!! 😂 although it is expensive there are definitely ways to budget for it if you want to! Plus you're going for a lot longer and there's a lot more to do there. Yeah you definitely expect some kind of an increase but like you said its pretty wild how much it's been increased 😂
Disney World definitely has so much on offer and the experience is second to none! 😍 I could have done 6 or 7 trips to Disneyland Paris for the same cost though 😂 So this trip I really, really noticed all the price increases there! Although the food at table service restaurants in Disney World can be expensive it is also really good so you feel most of the time you get your money's worth! Plus no character dining meals in Disney World are anywhere near these prices which is so shocking to me as Disney World is the flagship park so you expect it to have the highest prices! It is so lovely to do a longer trip and be fully immersed in the magic! I love that the most! I think if Disneyland Paris are going to keep charging crazy prices they will need to offer the Disney World experience - which it is far from at this point!
We were there in October. We decided to cancel Chez Remy just because we couldn't justify the cost and the children's menu wasn't great. It's such a shame. Food was a major let down for us in the parks. It was very poor value, as you say the buffets are extortionate. There was a 45 minute wait for an ice cream as all the others were closed and I could not believe that I couldn't get the Mickey pizza near it's a small world after 5pm.
It is such a shame that it seems a lot of the kids menus don't have food kids enjoy, as I hear this a lot from families! And for the cost you really want them to enjoy it! The buffets are crazy prices - particularly if there are not a lot of options there that you can eat or like eating! I do not understand why so many dining locations such so early! I feel this is something DLP need to change ASAP as the waits for food becomes ridiculous! And with so many people now not dining in table service restaurants it will just become worse!

It is totally wild that it is double the amount of some character dining locations in Disney World! The fact Disney World is the flagship park and is usually the most expensive, but now Disneyland Paris have taken the crown, is remarkable! And the fact everything is so inconsistent in Disneyland Paris is totally unacceptable because of this! If you are going to charge crazy prices you have to constantly delivery good food, amazing experiences and all the characters that are advertised!
I am a bit nervous about my reservation at Auberge de Cendrillon as it’s over two weeks wages for me as a carer. It’s a one off treat for my daughter who is so looking forward to it. I also don’t know if I can eat anything on the menu as I’m a coeliac.
Hi Jill! The sudden increase can be a concern as people have already budgeted for it and now need to find the extra cost! I would say for a special treat it is amazing and the Princess interactions I had were wonderful. You could contact Disneyland Paris in advance of your trip just to ask them about dining at Auberge de Cendrillon with coeliac disease. I do know each restaurant has an allergen menu so you can see which dishes are suitable and which aren't but sometimes speaking to them in advance you can have all the information to hand and they can let you know what food they can offer.
That's a really interesting point regarding the dining plans and a strategy to 'encourge' people to take it up. Because once, you start to factor in the cost of eating inside the park, it makes the meal plan a more appealing option, as it's something that can be booked in advance and paid off over time. I gotta say, the buffet though, that's steep!
I think raising the prices to dissuade out of pocket guests will free up dining reservations, which means people with the meal plan should have an easier time getting them (which is needed because it is bad to have paid for it and then you can't dine anywhere!). And I think that will also push people towards the dining plan as for some people it will work out cheaper that way now. (Although so many people don't benefit from the meal plan and end up losing money!). So it is an interesting move and we will see how it plays out! But I think the food quality and experiences will need to improve if they are going to charge Disney World prices for meals. The fact character dining is now way more expensive in DLP than WDW blows my mind!
Wow, I hadn't even registered how much Plaza Gardens has gone up! I'm vegan too so decided the buffets weren't worth it even before they increased the prices. Very glad I've already paid for Auberge de Cendrillon at the old price but even then, I'll be cross if I only get 3 princesses! It won't impact me too much as a solo traveller but I really feel for larger groups and families who might have their careful budgeting wrecked by this.
The new Plaza Gardens cost is wild! As you say as a vegan a lot of the buffets aren't worth the cost because there are so few options. Restaurant Cafe Agrabah seems to be the best as a lot of the middle eastern dishes are accidentally vegan so they have quite a few there. But for the prices you pay at DLP the buffets are always quite expensive anyway! It is fab you had pre-paid! I did really enjoy my experience at Auberge de Cendrillon! The vegan chocolate and cherry dessert is one of the best desserts I've ever had! And I had wonderful interactions with the Princesses! I do hope they start to be consistent with who turns up because if you are charging significantly more for character dining than Disney World, the flagship Disney Park, then you need to offer the same level of service or more!
Since I booked our May 23 4 night stay , the price for that same booking had now gone up over 400£ ! So I now pretend my added half board meal plan was free 😄 I would most likely skip Walts and Bistro Chez Remy too if I did not have a meal plan. At least that makes the cost tolerable (ish). But having said that, here in Scandinavia a 3 course meal like the ones at those restaurants would cost u waaay more than what DLP is charging, and it would be without the disney magic 😊 but a 25% increase is crazy. Also, a new thing I noticed while making table reservations in the app is that I was told to tick of what plan I was on. Curious to see if they will use this info to maybe create more limited choices for the vouchers. At this point, nothing surprises me 🙃
It is wild that the price has increased £400! It is true that certain restaurants now will be a great benefit in the meal plan, such as Remy's, whereas out of pocket they just aren't worth the price. It is super interesting to see when making dining reservations now they ask what type of meal plan you have. It will be interesting to see if they do start offering a menu just for people with the meal plan and it would be such a shame if this did mean limited choices! (Although I wouldn't be surprised but I do think they should state this implicitly before people purchase it!).
@@juarezm.6737 Disney do release a few offers a year, but we don't always know what they will be. In the past they did each year offer the free meal plan but we haven't seen it recently. I hope it does return in 2023!
I agree 💯 with you #Sophie regarding Auberge de Cendrillon 🤯 … since I’m not a person to wait at Princess Pavillion for 2 looong hours to meet a “surprise princess”, I paid a steep price and had lunch there 2 weeks ago - just for the sake of meeting my all time favorite princess #Snow #White for the 1st time 🍎 …. The dining reservation system doesn't cope well at Disneyland Paris and I do think this is one of the reasons they are charging so much for the table service meals now. If they can price out people who will pay out of pocket then people who have paid for the dining plan will have an easier time of making dining reservations.
I really wished I had seen this before. We have booked for August an extra £1500 half board for 6 of us. I booked Plaza Gardens and have to pay an extra £79 ontop of half board! I never sat down and worked out how much it was costing when I should have done, it's ridiculous! It's about time Disney sorted their sit down meals out, stop offering one option for vegetarian/ vegan,we should have a choice too. The buffet aren't any better, we did Down Town last year, they didn't have the vegan burger and everything was covered in butter or cheese. So I paid for something I couldn't eat and then ended up in Caseys! Disney need to stop being so greedy!
The new price increases came in overnight and it was a shock! If you are eating in a lot of table service restaurants the dining plan can be a good option as your vouchers will be valid for the same meal as before so the increase won't have such an impact which is good news! It is so difficult when you have booked a character dining meal that you have to pay to top up and the price has increased! It is so amazing to see vegan options in most restaurants now. Just 16 months ago there was hardly anything. But it can be difficult to dine if there are options you don't like as it limits where you can eat. I went to Downtown too recently. It was good to have vegan options on the buffet but they were mostly side dishes so it definitely didn't feel worth the price for vegans. I also went to Pym Kitchen who promote being a buffet suitable for vegans and they only have 2 vegan options! (I then checked if any of the other dishes were vegan with a chef who double checked and it turned out everything he said I could have had dairy in and made me ill which was not OK!). I don't think I will go to buffets again just because there aren't too many options for the price you pay and I will always check the allergy menu rather than asking the chefs in future!
Anyone who pays silly prices like this enable them to overcharge and ruin it for other more sensible people. To think people are so greedy that they will pay anything asked for a meal and ruin it for some children who's parents may not be able to afford it or not want to be ripped off in the process is disgusting.
