Awesome models, great video.
I know there was a Race School video on aero, but can you guys do a video on the FE cars' aerodynamics?
Great shout. Will ask the designer nicely. Here's the full playlist if you haven't seen them already: th-cam.com/play/PLiSlrzIEN5WJtAkYFfcrTEPiDJ7uxJ8q8.html
Is there any Formula E car with Pull-rod suspension? It would be interesting to see how they design different systems.
where can a team order the blade style swaybar ? having a hard time finding someone that manufactures these
I wish they would have shown it in action. I don't understand how the up and down movement is transferred to front to back movement.
Basically, when the tire moves up, it moves the pushrod towards the center of the car. Imagine the rocker as a circle, with the pushrod pushing the right side, making the rocker turn counterclock. the springs are at the other end, resisting the counter clock motion.

Ohhhhh, I think I get it now. Kinda like how the crankshaft and connecting rods attached to the pistons convert the up and down movement to circular movement right? But in this case the up and down movement is converted to tensioned back and forth movement?
I might be missing something, but doesnt this miss out on heave? or do we ignore heave because we never approach the sort of speeds where aero loads are sufficient to require heave dampers/springs?
we're not dealing with warp due to regulations, but I can't see why we wouldn't add a third element.
I need to design one for my R53...
ok sir
yeah thats all fine and good but what about fanboost?
how can we use it to improve the suspension?
I cannot wait until the day that they remove fanboost so that I can finally stop talking about how much it sucks.
It would be realllly nice if they just made it boost. Like, a boost meter. With no fans attached.
how can the car cushion with this angle from the shock absorber? Pls Explain it
Wowww, I'm flattered by the mechanical geniusness.
If you know what I mean! 😅
I don't get it how is the vertical motion of the wheeks converted to horizontal load on the shocks.
@@mikamika9781 i still can't visualize it. J've seen rockers in other orientation but these ones are almost horizontally oriented. I'm struggling to see how lifting the wheels will move in the direction that will make the rocker rotate

Now look how the 'golden' rocker and the suspension is positioned as well as its angle :

To move the rocker u need a 'pushrod' like this : (go to 00.40) :
th-cam.com/video/nnxvUMOzu40/w-d-xo.html --> its the black rod positionned like this : */*
how do those rockers convert the vertical forces into horizontal forces?! someone please fucking explain it to me!
Felipe Massa did not like this video 😆😆😆😆😆😆.
Mad props to the guys in charge of the 3D animation, it looks amazing
