    Ein großartiger Vortrag von Diana B. Henriques zum Thema Geschäftsethik. Schade, dass sie nicht in Deutschland solche Vorträge hält...

    Talking about ethics when corporate America runs the country and dictates to Congress. If ethics are to be found in business, they lay with the mom and pop stores (IF you can find any).

    Yes, an apparent savy lady wjo can te us NOW...... that we need a philosophy whereby we don't have too much confidence in our own judgements..... she's right in the fact thT the Wall St crowd wouldn't touch him...... it was because they lived in glass houses and didn't report him for that reason.......

    Business ethics in Wall Street is if it's given a pass by established norms, weak laws and government it's an easy market. Ask the guy nobody recalls as a chairman of NASDAQ.

    I don’t think its fair to make the statement that Steve Jobs was a sociopath. She wasnt Steve Jobs personal physician to make such a diagnosis and anyhow she shouldn’t speak ill of the dead in this manner, it’s in bad taste.

    • @mepulley7913
      @mepulley7913 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right about her not being a person mental health expert to make such a diagnosis. I will say is this much the definition of a sociopath is the following: a person consistently shows no regard for right and wrong and ignores the rights and feelings of others. One thing I can say is this, there are numerous stories about how he treated people he worked with. His return to Apple was a shift action at removing their charitable contributions. Those stories are not good. He was excellent at managing, but a crappy human being. If you don't know, in a CA court, he denied his child. Said she was not his because he had had a vasectomy. When in reality, she and her mother lived off welfare. It was only later in life after many years passed that he connected with her again. Those stories of how awful he could be are out there. However, it's one of the many reasons Diane Henriques is such an awesome journalist and speaker in how she points out, except if there is a reward of some kind, does it benefit a person to take on a person in a powerful position?

    Baha'u'llah, Prophet-Founder of the Baha'i Revelation, tells of when He "gazed on one of the Beauties of the Most Sublime Paradise, standing on a pillar of light..." who cried aloud "By God, the True One! I am Trustworthiness and the revelation thereof, and the beauty thereof." "I am the supreme instrument for the prosperity of the world, and the horizon of assurance unto all beings." The Beauty asserted that She was "the foundation of every human endeavor."

    Madoff claim that he acted alone is the ultimate scam of the public.

    I've watched a number of videos about the Madoff scandal and there is many comments from people that don't understand what the big deal is. To them investing in the stock market is just like gambling and the investor "deserves" to get ripped off. It's a very damaging attitude.

    Harry Markapoulos busted him,why is he here ??

    • @larryrouse6322
      @larryrouse6322 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Harry Markopolos did not "bust" Bernie Madoff. He was not even the only person to report Madoff to the SEC. He just became the media darling after the scandal broke. What he did was send a complaint to the SEC. When that did not work, he sent another complaint, then another and another, over a period of years, but nothing ever happened. He never attempted to involve the FBI or any other law enforcement (The SEC is a regulatory agency with no arrest powers), and the scam went on for years ensnaring thousands of new victims.
      Madoff's sons called the FBI and Madoff was arrested the next day. Had Markopolos done that, the scam would have ended years earlier, but he would have no longer been eligible for any potential bounty from the SEC, which he plugs relentlessly in his letters to the commission. Don't canonize this guy, Harry was looking out for Harry.

    Not all Wizards are quiet, trusted, well-mannered and have sterling reputations. Some are blatant, obnoxious, openly crooked, attention seeking, narcissists who instinctively understand human psychology.
    And they’re orange.

      @Lady Wharton The most divisive president (who, by the way, wanted a military parade in his honor, like his idol Kim of Korea) was absolutely NOT good for this country. He divided and divided and divided with his narcissism-run-amok, until a group of brain-washed followers thought it a good idea to call for Pence’s death-by-hanging and to commit treason, threatening our democracy. Nothing good will come to conservative politics if the GOP continues to dumb itself down to match this kind of thuggery led by a despot-wannabe😢

      America's laws make unethical business practices legal, so we get a cloudy look at the concept of right/wrong. If it's legal, it is right. But it still hurts people, so it's also wrong.
