Funny you should mention that. Pioneer and Sega actually did collaborate on what was called the LaserActive, which played laserdisc games. It also had add-ons from Sega and NEC which allowed users to play Sega Genesis, Sega CD, TurboGrafx-16 and Turbo Duo/PC Engine CD-ROM games. Unfortunately, all that was quite expensive. So the LaserActive bombed big-time.
FYI @@curleed85 if you wanted to play Sega games on your LaserActive player, you should get an expansion pack starting with PAC-S. For Turbografx-16 games, get one with PAC-N.
This is friggin' amazing!!! I'm a Blu-ray freak, in owning collection and authoring as well, but now looking at this, I must really get one just to keep and admire its vintage beauty!!!
This looks so good. We have a couple dozen LDs of our own, and we still have a DVL-919 (which unfortunately got zapped in a storm, so it doesn't perform as well anymore), but I am betting this would have looked great on the old VP-1000 my dad used to have!
Based on the introductions to the sides, people watching their movie on LaserDisc must have been entertained and simultaneously a tad impatient to get on with their movie.
yeah, unlike all video formats after this, we were able to fast forward through anything and everything. LaserDiscs also had chapters you could skip through, yes, LaserDisc had that before CDs or DVDs.
It probably appeared on many Laserdiscs, but for sure you can find this intro on "The Eve" which was an import from Japan featuring the music of Bingo Miki.
Dude you have the most powerful of the power PC based Macs ever the G5 Was a top of the line computer back in the day and I have the top of the line Intel core based Macs the MACPOWERBOOK PRO 8400C-15 aka the MacBook pro 15 Inch with mechanical HDD from mid 2012 and it still has not let me down yet even though I had the original hard drive replaced it's a freaking tank just keeps going and going and everything else is standard specifications for example the RAM is 4GB the CPU HAS NOT BEEN OVER CLOCKED IT HAS STAYED AT 2.3 GHZ AND THE GPU HAS NOT BEEN OVER CLOCKED TO FULL POWER EATHER .
For its day, it was powerful, though my specific model wasn't the highest end in the line. Of course, today, it's more or less a boat anchor or, when I do use it, a bit of a space heater as it's working on a job. I still have my Power Mac G5, but it's only used for some very specific tasks that I can't do on my 2012 Mac Pro because of a lack of software, specifically iDVD. Otherwise, pretty much all of my editing these days I do on my 2012 Mac Pro or my 2019 MacBook Pro, since Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere are far more flexible than iMovie, which I didn't have when I edited this particular video together.
Pioneer managed to predict years later with "Tenchi Muyo!" in its debut as an anime licensor/distributor in 1992... Using space as a background. 😅🌌☄️🌙🪐🌎
I just *ABSOLUTELY LOVE* this synth.
Just discovered this video now after 5 years, the synth is pretty good, I like it as well.
Same.
Meeeee toooooo.
The synth sounds pretty outer spacey
Yes, me too.
This legit feels like a game console BIOS.

That's what it reminded me of
Boldly going where no laserdisc has gone before.
これは子供のこれは見ていました。懐かしかったみたいでした。
Lollollollollol!
Wow..I've had LaserDiscs since 1979, and I've never seen any of these. Thanks!
You're welcome. And thank you for watching.

将来は宇宙へ行きたくなりますよ。
I wish they had created amazing logo trailers like this for VHS, DVD and BD.
This is a nice and relazing thing to watch before going to bed
That's Right!!! The LaserDisc here in the Philippines was invented by PIONEER in January 1981!
I could watch this all day
幻想世界に吸い込まれそうな感じだなぁ、流れてくる星々がはかなくいいんだなぁやっぱり。
I can see Ryo-Ohki flying through space in this! lol
Wow, look at all those stars.
I don't know why this logo gets a charm. But, I love it.
"Side 1 End" can be equal to "Intermission"
今はBlu-ray Discソフトなんですよ。
Getting to the end of the first disc in a movie on laserdisc seems like the perfect time for a pee break if anything.
Better than Netflix
Just nostalgic....I love this.

懐かしいですよね。

We often skipped past those bits

Pioneer LaserDisc. An iconic type of disc released from the 20th-century.
Seems that when Synthetizer came, people liked to arrange music pieces onto it
Ikr, nearly every single logo at the time utilized it, and some were insanely loud and jumpscare-worthy.
I love side 1 end
I lOVE this intro. In which laserdisc is it?

Nostalgia
Looking at this logo makes me wish I grew up in the 1980s. I was born in 1994.
Hey, same birth year. I feel the same way looking at some of the movies and music videos out there from the 80s.
Don't worry Laserdiscs are still around in 1994.
パイオニア、一応日本の企業ですので・・・。
All we had to do was not spend money and wait a few years but damn, Bladerunner was just too awesome on laserdisc.

うん、これは私のお気に入りのシンセの1つです。
Sounds like a Japanese logo.
That's because Pioneer Corporation is a Japanese company.
LaserDisc Igloos?
I like it

These from '81?
+Dillon Patton I would imagine this came from 1981, maybe even 1982.
1980
Oh No Stoltzman Golly didn’t expect you here. But anyways this logo is probably is this the best.

I wonder if the first part stays this way and then the Pioneer and LaserDisc logos don’t show until a disc is inserted.
it's not like PlayStation bootup, the whole video is recorded on the disc.
@@mateuszorlinski7334And is that only on a Pioneer LaserDisc player or do you see these on any LD player?
@@curleed85 you would See this on any LD player. It's just indicating that Pioneer released this disc.
What year is it from?
1981
These specific bumpers were introduced in June 1980.
