Zone Segmentation using Gateway Firewall

Zone Segmentation with VMware Gateway Firewall complements VMware Distributed Firewall deployments by enabling unified security across physical and virtual workloads. It is a cost-effective Layer4-Layer-7 firewall delivered entirely in software that includes advanced capabilities like TLS decryption and URL Filtering in addition to features like Intrusion Detection and Prevention, Malware Detection. In a nutshell since the VMware Gateway Firewall can run either on a physical server or as virtual form factor, it provides the organization the flexibility to implement it in a way that best suits its needs in terms of both Security and Management.
In this video we describe how to configure VMware Gateway Firewall as both the firewall between Physical Servers and Virtual Workloads as well as how to leverage its advanced capabilities to enforce security for North-South Internet bound traffic from the datacenter. All this while being able to reuse constructs Groups/Tags created for configuring VMware Distributed Firewall from the same unified appliance - for an operationally simple, unified management of security posture across all workloads irrespective of form factor.
