We dropped my sister off there circa 1955 and she absolutely hated it - to the point that my parents had to go and collect her before the "adventure" was over.
@@TrygveRoberts Sorry, only just saw this. I was so tired and full cuts and bruises that my dad had to get onto the bus to carry me off. I was there much later of coarse. I was there my first time late 80s and 2nd time beginning of the 90s. Being a bit of a tomboy I guess helps lol. If I could go back there now, I would do so in a heartbeat. I come back to this video time to time. Thanks.
@@TrygveRoberts I was talking about the name of the town "Hogsback". never liked that name for such a beautiful place. An African name would be more appropriate.
Hogs Back is an excellent name, in any language. It refers to the Rolly, clumps on a hogs back, or an African Warthog. It simply means up and down hills, rough terrain.
I went to Hobbiton Hogsback camp twice when I was a child. Most beautiful experience ever! Thanks for the upload.

Beautiful, beautiful place. The tarred roads are scary!
Excellent narration!
Hogs Back is an old British term. There are many places called "Hogs Back" in English speaking countries. It refers to rough terrain.
Thank you. Good knowledge.
Nee

Makes more sense if you have been there. Beautiful indeed.
Love this video! Keep it up :)
Beautiful palace E
Is there any evidence that it did inspire Tolien or is that just speculation from the locals?
Even the lord of the rings come from Africa

Hassan. Names of places are controlled by government and not by us. It’s been called Hogsback for 170 years . Go with the flow.
