This is for sure the most greatest tender kindness bear story I have ever met. I love the understanding bond with Gus m Gus was in trouble and needed help fast and the storyline was beautiful from there on.. I am a little jealous of your bond with Gus. Petty a bear coat has to be awesome!

That was a very remarkable story. I very much enjoyed listening to the tale of Sam and the bear Gus. I know that i would never have the courage to approach a bear.

That really was an unforgettable story! Hearing about Sam and the bear Gus made for such a compelling and heartwarming tale. Approaching a bear would definitely take a lot of courage-I’d be right there with you, admiring from a safe distance!

Lovely story, well told. Thank you for sharing it with us. I've spent a lot of time in the woods and have long had the sense that wild animals are able to sense our intentions, as you said. I haven't had any close encounters -- like Sam and Gus -- but I've always felt comfortable in the wilderness. I always give wildlife a wide birth, and I would never hike alone in grizzly country, but your story has been truly inspirational. And so glad to hear the outcome for the poachers.

What a fabulous story you shared! Thank you for posting such a moving story documenting what I believe is possible when we allow ourselves to put aside our fear and place another creatures well-being ahead of our fears. Granted it would not be an easy thing to do but I believe it is possible to bridge that gap when we find our center calm and emit caring and compassion over fright. I believe animals sense our intentions. How beautiful it is to have designated that area where such a remarkable exchange took place. The Murie brothers who did the first grizzly counts in Yellowstone and Denali National Parks would be proud!!!

This is it! This is what I want to delivery in every single one of my stories. I want to spread LOVE and LESSONS to everyone but somehow all they care is "is the story real or not" and avoid the fact that the positive that the story brought to the audience. Thank you for this very thoughtful comment, if everyone have a mindset like you world will become a peaceful place 🥰😍❤️👏🏻

Thank you for sharing Sam’s encounter with
the injured grizzly bear , Gus!!! An
    extraordinary interaction, that helped to
enlighten all of us, that the wild creatures
in nature, have far greater intelligence and
understanding of the world, than most of
us give them credit for. Hopefully, Sam’s
interactions with Gus the grizzly bear,
    Will significantly enhance our understanding
of the wild creatures , we share this planet
with.. No doubt the further research that
Sam’s daughter conducted, has helped to
expand our grasp and comprehension of
what wild creatures are capable of.
