    I like how everyone sitting at home with a cocktail in their hand has something to say about how he’s doing it wrong. It’s his account, he can do it any way he damn well pleases and you can learn a lot by experimenting. If he thinks this way is taking to long or creates problems he’ll do something else the next time. Sheesh!

    In the first half when you were doing the big square you could push it all to the left toward the side where all the snow ended up. Angle the blade the toward the direction of the pile and every 2-3 passes make a scoop pass to get rid of the windrow. This way when you have the long pile you push it straight into the grass rather that push it an extra time. Just my 2 cents

    • @dakotalawnandlandscape
      @dakotalawnandlandscape  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Appreciate it man! Always looking for ways to increase efficiency. We found scooping then windrowing was faster than just windrowing but we will have to try windrowing and then taking a scoop every so often like you said! Could be faster!

      I agree windrow a couple passes then take the windrow out by scooping. This also works great for long pushes that aren’t very wide to not push the snow say towards a retaining wall or into a bunch of townhome doors. Excited to put my wings on for this winter!!

    The plow runs off your battery so every time you raise it lower it move it side to side you're using your battery. You should charge them after you're done plowing to put it back to full charge. And next time if you're going to scoop the whole parking lot and leave overflow. Just scooped up your overflow instead of rolling it

    • @mikehendricks7359
      @mikehendricks7359 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In other words your alternator is not going to keep up the battery charge. I bet you you raised and angle your plow over 300 times when you're out in the night.

I drive around after I’m done putting equipment away and filling it up so that should help charge it but I could see not wanting to shut it off right away. I think next time I might try pushing the other way in the lot even though they are more obstacles that way!

  • @pont09g8gt
    @pont09g8gt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Would be great to be able to see he actual layout of the property to better understand the process. When pushing straight the way you did you need to stagger the piles a little so that when you push across you get better forward motion. When it is in a straight line as you did you are constantly fighting the pile. If you encounter issues where you can’t get enough push when windrowing make a couple relief cuts across the lot, should make it easier.

    • @dakotalawnandlandscape
      @dakotalawnandlandscape  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Trying out something new with heavier snow. We figured if we can only use 1/3 of the blade to windrow with no spillage then we’d effectively be going over it 3 times whereas if we take full swipes each time it’s only 2

      Trying out a new technique when we weren’t on a time crunch. Seemed to be faster with the heavier snow. We could only take 1/3 of a blade width when wind rowing!

    Another video of a plowing not knowing how to set blade properly! Because of it, he is going to have to scrape that section all over again! Spending twice the time to clear it! What a waste of time and Money!

      I would argue taking full scoops is the most efficient way to plow as windrowing only clears 1/3 of the area at a time!
