Montréal: Incendie 3 alarmes St-Antoine / 3 alarm downtown fire 3-23-2018

At 5h30 this morning SIM fire crews responded to a structure fire at a disaffected building at 1320 St-Antoine St in the downtown core of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The blaze was upgraded to a 3rd alarm and exactly 12 hours after it began, the 10-10 ''end of intervention'' code was given at 5h30 tonight. In the early moments of the incident, squatters were spotted leaving the scene. The building was vacant and is now threatening to collapse. À 5h30 ce matin les pompiers du SIM ont répondu à l'appel d'un incendie dans un édifice désaffecté au 1320 St-Antoine dans le centre-ville de Montréal. L'incendie a été augmenté à une troisième alarme et exactement 12 heures après le début de l'incendie, le code de la fin de l'intervention 10-10 a été donné à 17h30 ce soir. Au début de l'incident, des squatteurs auraient été aperçus quittant la scène. L'édifice qui était vacant menace maintenant de s'effondrer après avoir submit de lourd dommage. There must be a reason they use all smaller diameter hose from the pumpers to the Tower Ladders. Does it help keep them from freezing up in winter fires?

golftooter I'd guess that they're using 2 1/2" or 3" supply lines. Interesting idea: using smaller supply lines to avoid freezing. I'll have to check that out. Makes sense

They actually covered the parked cars with tarps to help protect them. Now you wouldn't see that south of the border ! ( I'm an American in New York, so don't troll me ,lol unless you've seen it done in the states.)
