Realistically it was always going to be Strickland , Khamzat doesnt turnaround quickly and Alex was never really on the cards . No point in dricus waiting 1 year to fight
Thing that worries about the Sean Strickland fight... Dricus operates best when he's the underdog, when everyone counts him out. I hope he can come in with the same fire as he would've against Khamzat.
@@hugofourie1193 You are right with that, but I think the lessons learnt in the first fight, coupled with Sean’s element of surprise being gone, we may see Dricus finish Sean!
Hey Dricus you just got to get it done, don’t leave it to the judges. Strickland has been crying himself to sleep and as an American with Dana White privileges he gets the shot, boring Strickland 🙄🙄🙄
@@hackcheckpodcast32that doesn’t mean he was in just cause dricus wanted to fight him lmao. Dana never said “after that win khamzat is skipping Sean and he’s up next”
Pity. But the rematch was always going to happen with Dana disagreeing with the result. He doesn’t deserve a rematch however now they have a couple of story lines to play with. Lots of beef between Dricus and Sean, Sean and Khamzat. Dricus vs Dricus will happen in June here in SA. We dig Russians! Not overly disappointed, Dricus finishes Sean this time. He’s still young lots of time to journey to LHW and meet the final boss Poatan. 2025 is going to be a banger!
lets not act like Strickland didnt deserve the rematch at UFC 305... Adesanya had no reason to fight for the title coming off the loss to Strickland... It was made because Izzy called DDP slurs...
Strickland had no reason to fight for the title in the first place. He beat an unknown and only got a title shot because Dricus was injured. Granted, he fought the best fight of his life against Izzy but if you want to talk about legitimate contenders, Strickland just isn't one.
@ nah if we're keeping it 100% real, he did beat Cannonier. That was a terrible decision. He landed more and did more damage, and visibly affected Cannonier more with his punches (cannonier got stung and stunned by shots, strickland didnt). He was a deserving contender and that Cannonier fight was a title eliminator, and he got robbed. He proved that beating Izzy... hes not the level of Cannonier he is legitimate top level. Izzy had no business getting a title shot over him
@@hackcheckpodcast32 izzy didnt have to earn it again though. The UFC clearly doesnt view it that way. They dont consider who did what since every title fight, with the past not being considered. They consider everything Strickland has done at 185, and the competitiveness of his fight with DDP.
@@RealAfricanDudeyou’re just objectively hating lmao he’s beaten 5 arguably 6 fighters in the top 15 and 2 in the top 5 and lost a controversial split decision to ddp where he outstruck him in 4 rounds. You can not like the guy but don’t be delusional
They announced a while ago Strickland was next with Dricus. Look how beat up DDP was against Strickland in first fight. I personally like the simplistic approach of Strickland. You can’t blame him with the Costa fight being boring. Costa ran away the whole fight.
Im sure kjamzet takes the winner, that was too close to call on Strickland/ ddp, alot of people think Strickland won that fight, so they have un finished business
I’m not Stricklands biggest fan or anything but I genuinely believe he won that first fight. Sean outstruck DDP pretty handily. 157 significant strikes to the head alone while DDP had 137 total for head, body, and legs. Strickland had more significant head strikes than DDP had total. Damage wise Sean got cut and bloodied but DDP’s face was a wreck and his eye swollen shut. DDP had takedowns but none of them amounted in any significant control or submission attempts and I wouldn’t count on them to sway a fight. Even if Strickland didn’t win, it was so razor close I don’t think DDP edged it to take the belt. A draw could have been fair scoring some rounds closer
@@Childofbhaal I felt Dricus won 3 if not 4 rounds, but there were a lot of people who felt Sean won. I did call for an immediate rematch, but when it never happened, Sean was out for me - especially after Khamzat’s last performance. Sean has his chance now though
