All this is common sense when you work all kinds of soil
    As profession.
Can also be theorizded but is never very exact.
Better learn by observing nature. Geology, soil structures and the behaviour of any material in special conditions. Its life long observing, building and learning.
Videos on landslides and such are helpful.
    Says a meteorologist.

    Dear professor
We are all told that liquefaction realized after around 1964 by engineers so what Casagrande's talking about is not liquefaction, right ? He's not know he's dealing with liquefaction at all ?

So we really do need to invest in actual infrastructure projects in our country and not the phony green new deal projects that ignore our neglected infrastructure.

Scientifically speaking you would get more credibility if you spelled the topic of your subject correctly. If you check there is a difference between 'liquefaction' and 'liquifaction' . In this case, the correct word to use would be : 'LIQUIFACTION'

I have seen it spelled as 'liquefaction' in most literature texts, e.g. Kovacs and Holtz textbook. I have never heard of 'liquifaction'

What's liquifaction? Google suggests 'liquefaction' when I type 'liquifaction.
