As a resident of this neighborhood for over 15 years now, this was to frustrating watch. To those of you who don’t live in Baltimore,Whitelock (Reservoir Hill) is one of the fastest gentrifying neighborhoods in the city. I see more professional people walking their dogs and children around the neighborhood than I do the people in this video. In my opinion, they are glorifying and depicting a time , long pass. They did nothing to highlight how far the neighborhood has come, even though it still has some remnants of what it used to be. Madison Park North.( Murda Mall) has been torn down Close to 10 years by now. What The cameraman would not show you ( when he quickly panned to the vacant lot) is that currently there are 120 market rate townhouses being constructed, retail stores, an apartment building, and a new grocery store. Why is that? In my opinion, some of my people like to highlight the foolishness. There are Houses are now selling for over 500k in this neighborhood. Instead of bragging about.” owning.” a project building back in the day, I hope they took advantage and purchase some of the houses in that neighborhood, which not too long ago barely sold for over 100 K. This video highlighted so many issues that is wrong with us as a people. My condolences to the family of the man who lost his life along with his brother. I saw that on social media my heart goes out to his family. I’m sure whatever the reason , it wasn’t that serious. You can tell that man was loved and respected by a lot of people
So the point of the video was for the guy in the video to show us around. You show the people what the interviewee (person being interviewed) is talking about for context. He talked about the vacant lot but not the townhouses and stuff that was being built. It’s part of filmmaking 101. The b roll clips have to match what’s being said in the interview.

I used to live in 753 when rico store and tony barbershop was in the mall. We used to jump off duke Ellington and summer time they used to take off the fire hydrant cap so us kids could cool off.
