Absolutely amazing, finaly after studying your videos, my golfswing is back on track after being «stuck» behind in my downswing for years. It almost made me quit golf. I was tilting my hips and couldn`t rotate, in worst case even shanking the ball and lots of heel strikes. Thank you for getting my inspiration back, it honestly means alot. Best regards from Norway

Thanks for posting it's a great drill to reinforce what you teach and actually do in your swing. I done have a hockey stick but I have a long stick and will work on this move when I practice
Great video Milo! I work with the guys at Golftec and this is exactly what we are focusing on. Single digit handicapper but I have never felt compression like you get having worked for weeks on getting this move right.
Great video. TH-cam suggested this right after I watched your new video. Hockey sticks and impact bags everywhere... and I actually have both of those things sitting in my basement! So I guess it's time to get to work.
randomly saw this video and decided to try it on the range. it works great for ALL clubs - not just my irons (for compression). Driver is also very straight and ball flight seems more penetrating. Will give this a go on my next round and see how it goes.
I don't intentionally know, but possibly some shots I do. I just feel like I turn through and watch the ball leave. th-cam.com/video/gHH-reCb16Y/w-d-xo.html
Milo, great vid as always. As a senior player, I need the speed of my hands whipping through impact. Almost like the handle stops( shaft lean is not me) to get that compression. My force comes from releasing that right wrist. Your thoughts please.
Milo, In your swing do you see it as a whole body movement or do you feel the lower body is there to do the right things and support an upper body torso dominant movement where the chest and torso movements are boss of the whole thing?
Just tried this in my garage with my GCQ. Still getting use to this motion but already seeing an increase of 10-15 yards on the 6 iron. Just hit 20 balls and half were fatted. Question, there should be no throwing the hands motion at the ball, let the chest transport the club? Very different feel than what I'm used to. I'll have to take a look at your website and get a swing assessment. Are you on Skillest? Thanks!!!
Thanks for the watch. As for feedback, it's hard to say without seeing your swing. Don't want to lead you down the wrong path. I'm not on Skillest, but Henry my assistant is. I'd recommend joining our online academy so you have access to our full team and membership offerings - milolinesgolf.com.
I was an early thrower, facing sideways at impact, but off my online lessons with Milo, used a length of PVC pipe instead of a hockey stick and totally changed how I move in a golf swing. Vast improvement. My scoring goal was never any 18 hole score, it was a front or back 9 in even par. Instead, scored -1 first, then month later, an even par 9. Also lowered best 18 to +2: caveat, all on easy courses. One thing I wonder, Milo, is if training proper movement is maybe like strength training: you can't lift weights hard for 8 weeks and then stop cold and stay strong the rest of your life. Should those of us less athletically gifted, who need help to move properly, continue using the drills that helped us as we would with a strength training routine?
Milo, been trying this move but seems i catch everything low on the face, especially driver. Hit these low squibblers that go no where. Is this due to throwing the club at the ball?
I just ordered a hockey stick from Amazon and I have an impact bag from the charlatan, Martin Chuck, so I can try this move. I'm an athlete and I want to hit the ball with the big muscles that I have. This looks like the way & one of the things I like most about your technique & this drill is that everything is big enough to be seen including the impact bag, the hockey stick, the squat, and the shoulder/right arm driven strike.
In all my time coaching I’ve had maybe 10 students ever create too much shaft lean. The vast majority are extension flippers at lesson 1. This drill is great for moving the student’s pattern in the desired direction. It is easy to take a little lean out if needed.
I enjoy your videos and have learned a few things here and there. Sometimes though I feel like you put out a video for the sake of putting out a video. In my opinion this is one of them. I appreciate the effort because after having tried TH-cam it's a lot of work making videos. I think this one I would suggest leaving on the cutting room floor. Otherwise love the content most of the time.
Interesting as these are the very drills I use with a high % of my students and I feel this video embodies a great deal of my philosophies. Thanks for your feedback though.
@@MiloLinesGolf it's all good. I feel like everyone is putting out repackaged old information lately. I've been in golf for over 30 years. Worked as an assistant pro for a number of years. I tried to Monday Qualify for the Nationwide tour. It just feels like the same concepts and ideas we were teaching then have been repackaged. I guess people just don't really learn 🤷
I disagree. Great video and concept. Not all of us are pros or in golf for 30 years. Using an ice hockey stick is a totally different feel for me. I've been following you/brandon's channel for years and it's the first time seeing this drill in it's own video. Might of missed another vid if there was one, but what's the harm. You can simply skip the video if you don't feel the need to view.
Ice Hockey sticks are everywhere in Australia. You can't leave a mates place without them insisting you take one of their ice hockey sticks with you, so they can sleep easier, knowing you have at least one in your home.

Awesome ! Thank you Milo. Man I just love that back ground.
Me too!
Awesome demonstration with the hockey 🏒 stick . I see your trail shoulder also chasing through past where the ball was. Going to work on this drill
Milo this is great coaching. It makes more sense and is actually more repeatable. Less harsh on the body also 👏👏👏
Thanks for watching Chris!
Great video. Glad that you showed the move in slow motion. That really cemented the move for me.
Glad you liked it, thanks for the watch!
Thanks for the impact bag drill Milo 👍 Great content as always keep up your awesome work 😎
Thanks again!
Beats the heck out of early extension. Great content once again Milo.
Thanks Tim!

Hi Milo, what is causing the ball going left? This drill has helped me "opening" the hips. Best Regards
I'd have to see, I believe you are a member? Can you post a swing?
Nice drills Milo. Are you turning your eyes at target before you turn the chest?

@MiloLinesGolf Tally?... /Gyro swing? 2 things that Resonated with me. Your thoughts?

Gotta use what you have. Keep working hard on maintaining a good body pivot and you’ll have more longevity.
Will do. Thanks
Milo, In your swing do you see it as a whole body movement or do you feel the lower body is there to do the right things and support an upper body torso dominant movement where the chest and torso movements are boss of the whole thing?
Whole system...I actually like chest feels.

For sure, I always keep training the movements. Mastery may as well not exist. As Gary Player says, rent is due every day 😆

You need to develop a hockey length golf club training aid !!!
There are many adaptive golfers that play in USGA events that swing similar, amazing stuff!

Shoulder line and Shaft parallel "almost" to impact!

i still have a few hockey sticks in my garage, collecting dust along with skates and pucks.
Times to clean them off and make use of them!

That’s exactly how I hit it!😂
Sweet!

Not much new under the sun these days, just fancier ways of putting it out. The hockey stick seems to resonate with many folks though.
