Thanks for highlighting the PARA Method @reMarkable! For anyone who wants to learn more about it, here's the first video in a series I made explaining the method: th-cam.com/video/T6Mfl1OywM8/w-d-xo.html
This is a good system but as a remarkable user for the past 4 years almost everyday, remarkable for me is for note taking. That type or sorting is in the PC in the project folder where everything is, even files that remarkable can't read. I'm a structural design engineer, constantly drawing schematics and doing calculations on rM2, and taking notes, discussing solutions. But when the project or scope is finished, I import the pdf and it goes in the project folder
DSem: I appreciate that perspective. I'm also curious if you use the PARA method on your computer? Because it's very useful, and it totally assumes people will use multiple programs and devices, while still organizing things the same way wherever organization actually happens. I'm happy to see that remarkable has organizational features available, but more importantly, I'm happy to see how transferable its files are to other systems where I keep my "second brain" PARA folders (mainly Notion and Google Drive).
I've adopted the PARA method on my RMPP for work and private responsibilities, but added a "0" folder called Inbox. This is where everything goes temporarily when I don't have time to file it immediately in the appropriate folder. Additionally I have my annual agenda (courtesy of My Deep Guide) on the same level as the PARA folders, as I want it on the top-level.
For those who don't like flashy colors, this is a good product that adds color on the ink screen technology. The large size allows you to read more content, but it is not so convenient to carry. It would be better if there is a folding screen.
I would like Remarkable to find a way to move files easier ( less steps ). also I have issues with palm rejection. I wish there are more options regarding the templates
Hi there! I recommend reaching out to our technical support team with any issues with your reMarkable. You can use this link here: tinyurl.com/rMContactUs
Hi JOshua! We currently don’t support third-party templates. However, you can import PDF files and make notes on the imported documents. reMarkable \ also comes with several templates installed. You can read more about templates here: tinyurl.com/rMTemplates
Can’t you do this exact same thing with nearly any modern digital device? I don’t understand the argument in favour for the Remarkable here… and I own a RM2.
Yup - pretty much this. It’s doing it on a device that isn’t going to interrupt you because it can’t. For some people, this won’t be an issue and they can use any device. For others, having to do this on a device that can’t distract you is a godsend.
The other advantage is battery life. You could just as easily do this on a laptop or tablet, but you’re going to have to charge it at least every day or two if you’re using it for a job - and possibly have it plugged in while you’re working on it. With a device like the reMarkable, you don’t need to charge it more than every several days to every few weeks or more (presumably - I’m basing that on my Kindle Scribe experience). As long as you manage to do that, it means it’s not going to die on you at the wrong time - or at least is a lot less likely to.
I have a question - when you Archive files or folders, they don't actually go to the 'cloud' if you have a connect subscription? They just sit on the RM? If so how do you actually free up space by Archiving with a connect subscription?
Hi there. As a Connect subscriber, you can free up space on your reMarkable tablet by archiving large or unused files. Archiving safely stores them online, allowing access anytime via our mobile or desktop apps, so you can retrieve them whenever needed.
@@remarkablepaper thank you. I see now (sadly) it's just files. I expected to be able to archive the whole folder. But in hindsight being able to restore a file here and there is probably better.
But then you have the tax file in a different location than the rest of the files. Wouldn’t using tags be better so a file can show up multiple places without the need to duplicate it?
As much as I love my Remarkable2 - it would benefit from better connectivity to other apps like Notion and Gmail/Outlook. It is clunky moving emails/pdfs to the app on the computer and then viewing/editing on the Remarkable2.
Remarkable should be solely for notetaking. Why would I import other files even if finally there's more space? If there are too many features, remarkable will stop being a great notetaking device and become a bad tablet. I like the colour display though
As a teacher, I import other files, my students' files, in order to mark them. I like the fact that I can write remarks by hand as it makes it more personal. I can also annotate pdf files of short stories or other school material that I want to insist upon in class. I find it much more convenient to work this way than on a screen, which I find more time consuming and more awkward. I don't quite share your opinion that with all the improvements the Remarkable will end up as a bad tablet. I use it for very specific tasks and activities and it does the job perfectly. I've been a Remarkable fan ever since Remarkable 1 and I thoroughly enjoy Remarkable 2. I wouldn't part with this device.
Great device but with some tech issues. The worst part is in your customer service. For a new product and price $400 you expect a better service. The emails response I received after contacting you for issues was the worst so I can't imaging lasting forever in business if your niche are people in business, students and productive clients. Even an affordable product in AMAZON has a better and professional response when it comes to fix a problem. For example, your pencil is the worst and the tips keep falling off. My order didn't have a replacement when I contacted your company they said I better have the box where the product arrived. I didn't know if laugh, cry or yell.
BRO I BOUGHT MY REMARKABLE 2 LIKE A WEEK AGO. No this isn’t even fair you should be more mindful abt your advertising and should have at least announced it earlier. Watch them delete the comment

I thought remarkable was also higher resolution for penmanship
Does Remarkable offer smaller sizes??
No. only these ones
The rM2 is a great option for size and portability.

am i the only one who noticed... bro needs to charge that thing up
yes I was nervous watching those little bars going down the drain. I charge my R2 every day to 100% LOL
Would be true with an ipad. Remarkable will last for 2 weeks on a full charge lol
I leave my R2 on all the time
are those blacks more like very dark blue?

just return it...? you have 100 days
100 day return policy. Also, this product isn’t taking the place of the R2. That product will continue to be offered.
What are you crying about, almost everywhere has a return policy close to 30 days lmao.
I bought my reMarkable 2 on Amazon and the return window just ended. So I'm stuck.
This is absolute nonsense, no way of quickly identifying archives/older files as it significantly expands.
