There are a lot of mixed views on this video but I think it’s eye opening to others that being an equestrian is difficult and people should take care. Not to mention it promotes course designers to think about safety rather than money.
Izzy Taylor the woman at 2:00 who fell off is fine. I'm not sure what injuries she suffered but she is still Eventing and is currently ranked 2nd in British Eventing and correct me if I'm wrong but that horse is still also competing
So many haters on this site- why watch a video of x country if you aren’t expecting thrills and unfortunately spills- the lady on the grey horse was exceptionally brace and you kind of knew disaster was around the corner ! The horse was either very green or doggy and she did a fantastic job to get him over some of the earlier fences - people don’t realise that these courses are intended to be the highest challenge of the sport - you can’t have 2 foot straw bales at a four star!
Why on earth do you you want to share this, I hope Izzy is ok! Made my stomach turn watching this knowing some of the other riders in this footage have had catastrophic falls already in their career..
How good they are at the sport. I agree they can take moves to make them safer, like have jumps that release incase a bad fail, buy it's kinda...the point to make them tricky. It is high level cross country.
Falls at cross country should never happen... especially rotational falls... FEI needs to do better, and having these videos available to the public benefits horse welfare.
Falls on cross country do happen. It’s not all on the course designer. Some riders take it too fast, some take it too slow, some mess up their line, some have run-outs at tricky combinations and water complexes designed to test the pair and other times the horse slips.
This might have been Badminton, and the horses the cream of the current competition, but I think it’s time the course builders stepped back a little and made the courses they design a bit more attractive for all concerned, for the horse, the rider, and the public who view the course as it plays out on the day. Some of the obstacles were nigh on impossible. Obviously no consideration was given to the fact that the approaches could/would deteriorate throughout the day, making some of them downright dangerous. When I see courses such as this one, I’m pleased I never reached four star. For a start, I’d have had too much love and respect for my horse to ask it to endanger both our lives. Lucky some of the horses were not so obedient as to attempt jumps that were beyond their capabilities. Seeing some of the horrendous falls is off putting even for an armchair critic such as I am (in my old age)
I think this course, and many more like it ask too much of horse and rider these days. Stupid corner, and skinny fences are ridiculous, and unnecessary.
bad Woman 1:21 sie sieht nicht mal nach ob ihr Pferd sich am Bauch verletzt hat und dann bei 2:01 this poor Horse this is insane. This is no Sport this is danger for the Horses :-(
“BEST” falls and refusals? This is little better than porn, it’s not presented as a teaching tool, and it really, really angers me to see it on YT. Think about this, guys: This poster spent countless hours cherry picking moments of pain and injury of horses and riders! Cutting them together! So YOU could watch the HURT too. NOT OKAY.
In order to be able to enter animals in extreme sports like this, you should have to agree to be responsible for that animal throughout its life even if it becomes unrideable due to injury...rider/owner/whoever should be required to provide a comfortable retirement for the life of the horse
Next time please use better music or commentary, this music was awful and made me stop watching half way through!! Also not great to show such a horrific fall
Was zur Hölle soll das sein? Sport? Springen, das sie sich verletzten und immer wieder am Zügel reißen, das fügt den Pferden Schmerzen zu. Die armen Pferde 😥!!!
Please educate yourself before putting out incorrect information. When ridden correctly, the horse does not get pulled in the mouth while jumping. Accidents do happen and they do sometimes accidentally get pulled in the mouth but professionals don’t usually make that mistake. Cross country is one of the 3 phases of a 3 day event and undoubtedly the hardest. The horse does not get hurt while jumping unless a jump is taken incorrectly. It happens and you can’t prevent it. It’s hard for the equestrians to make their living as they need to win events to keep their stables going otherwise they’ll have to sell some of their horses to make ends meet. Jumping does not cause pain to the horses if ridden correctly. Stop insulting the sport when you clearly don’t know anything about it. It is a sport but it’s a sport with risk like any other sport. Check your facts before speaking rubbish.

Thank you for sharing and by the way, that rotational fall was caused by the horse slipping, so could not have been predicted.
2:01 I pray the rider was fine as she took a bad hit to the face by the looks of it.

Yes but it's very dangerous and she was taken straight to the hospital!
@Robert Brunger, Exactly right! 🎯🎯🎯

she and the horse are ok
@jsgilbert, Who held a gun to your head and made you watch this video? You can't control the uploader, and it seems you have no control.
I don’t understand why course designers make these courses so tricky and dangerous…what does it prove?

of course falls on XC are going to happen wdym

I feel that most of the problems are because of the course design. It’s sets the horses and riders up for failure and injury.
Win at all cost.
I hope the horse and rider where ok at 2:00 bc that looked painful
will the badminton horse trials 2022 falls and refusals be reposted?
Unfortunately Badminton official Channel request to TH-cam to unpublish the 2022 video and I have no solution to republish it…
@@Joviendu94 is there a possibility you could send me the video as the falls aren’t on badminton tv anymore and I need to for a school project
I think you should remove Izzy Taylor’s horrible fall given that she was taken to hospital.
She didnt move yo
ashamed to be british when i see people like laura collett riding lmao
1 compared to some of the others on here (cough cough grey horse blue colours) that was nothing and
2 still feel that way after badminton 😂

@@anniewright6358 Agreed. However, this is PAU (France), not badminton. Though Badminton here is just as bad.
@@xsilentmelodiesx my mistake, thank you for correcting me, I thought I saw it listed as Badminton in the intro dialogue
