    The bowl of ranch hit home hard, used to make my body weight in ranch daily for a buffet, people would submerge their entire slice of pizza in a salad bowl filled to the brim with ranch. Like homie, I can get a hose and a funnel and we can get you some ranch bongs in the parking lot. Same f*ckers that will ask 20 questions about a 2 topping pizza only to not taste a single bite of the food their eating. I'm convinced most of our customer base didn't actually like pizza they just showed up for free ranch. Also the number or morbidly obese people that talk loud enough to hear across the dining area about how hard it is to lose weight while eating 5000-7000 calories in a sitting was too damn high.

      That sounds so gross. I only eat ranch on certain things unless there is a very good recipe. Like I use BBQ sauce and hot sauce for most things and Blue cheese for pizza and Wings.

    Some of us are lactose intolerant but can tolerate hard cheese because there are different levels of lactose in different milk products. I can't drink milk or cream 🤮but I'll happily munch some cheese. It's not a one-size-fits-all situation. Same with gluten - you can be fully gluten intolerant with coeliac disease, or you can have some sensitivity. I appreciate that there are some idiots who jump on the bandwagon but there are, medically speaking, different levels of symptoms and it's not up to strangers to judge whether another person meets those criteria. Edit: this is still funny - don't let me put you off!

    Cheeses are made from milk, but generally much of the lactose sugar has been fermented out depending on aging

    • @scubeskitchen
      @scubeskitchen  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +63

      That’s true but if you’re severely sensitive to lactose even a little could bother you

      I believe it can be said only about firm ripened cheese not soft cheese

    • @davidjimenezlopez
      @davidjimenezlopez 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      In most soft cheeses also the lactose has been completely or almost completely consumed during fermentation. People who are sensitive to cheeses is not because being lactose intolerant (they might be or not), but they are more often allergic to dairy, that is a completely different condition.

      I'm lactose intolerant and the only thing that works for me is cheese curds. Least amount of lactose. Plus, they're delicious

    • @alricaneshama
      @alricaneshama 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      FYI:
      Lactose is literally caused by the fermentation.
      The presence of lactic acid or lactate in milk is due to the fermentation of lactose caused mainly by lactic bacteria. Generally speaking, just-milked milk does not contain lactic acid, but this increases after a while and its concentration is closely correlated to the total bacterial charge.
      This is WHY lactose intolerant.
      It is CAUSED BY THE FERMENTATION!
      And...
      Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) play an essential role in traditional cheese making, either as starter cultures that cause the rapid acidification of milk or as secondary microbiota that play an important role during cheese ripening. The enzymes produced by such dynamic LAB communities in raw milk are crucial, since they support proteolysis and lipolysis as chief drivers of flavor and texture of cheese. Recently, several LAB species have been characterized and used as probiotics that successfully promote human health. This review highlights the latest trends encompassing LAB acting in traditional raw milk cheeses (from cow, sheep, and goat milk), and their potential as probiotics and producers of bioactive compounds with health-promoting effects.
      So... My point?
      Lactic acid is LITERALLY IN ALL DAIRY products.
      Lactic acid is a naturally occurring substance that bacteria produce during fermentation. Lactobacillus and Streptococcus cultures produce lactic acid. Foods such as pickled vegetables, jams, frozen desserts, baked goods, and dairy products all contain lactic acid.
      Where is this information you people are getting?
      They are NOT separate!
      And the fermentation does NOT actually remove the dairy. It PRESERVES THE NUTRIENTS, to keep from spoiling.
