  • Escape the tourists in this peaceful village, a tranquil hideaway which has good access to nearby cities and leisure resorts.
This small village is located 15 minutes inland from the coastal city of San Javier and is surrounded by golf courses and attractive resorts.
Approaching the village from the southeast, you will notice olive groves lined with attractive cacti. Olives form one of the town’s main sources of revenue, which are exported along with almonds, melons, wheat, artichokes, beans, lemons, tomatoes and other produce.
Head to the village centre to its palm-lined square, where you will find a beautiful old church which rises over the town in its shades of rose and gold. Enjoy a lazy afternoon sampling some of the local cuisine in the restaurants and cafes.
Sucina is an authentic Spanish community, with a smaller population of well-integrated British expats. There is less tourism, so the village is more tranquil than some of the coastal resorts and the businesses stay open year round.
