How to make the ZF8 Supra SHIFT FASTER! xHP Transmission Tune Stage 2 (Installation & Review)

- In today's video, I flash the xHP Stage 2 Transmission Tune onto my MK5 Supra and show you how to do it if this is something you're looking into.
This is a huge game change for the ZF8 transmission and not only just for the Supra. This works on multiple BMW applications! With xHP you can also fine tune the transmission to you're liking. For now, I'm going to keep it onto the OTS stage 2 map.

I ran stage 2 for about a year now i'm on stage 3 XHP tune at 610whp. :-)
How much of a different was stage 2 versus 3?
@@vinhgetaeverything is dialed up one more notch. More race car and a bit rougher but they also enable ignition cuts too, so I love it. You can flash it, test things out and see what you think. You’ll probably need to code in Sport+ as well.

xHP tune's definitely worth it. It shifts even quicker with traction mode or VSC off!

Something I noticed too, after you flashed it the car didn’t make that stupid farting sound between shifts. That in itself is worth it for me to do on my Supra
theyre actually worse when tuned.
Upshift braps are the 1!
I mean.. you can do it and it will do it automatically when WOT and above 4K RPM.
Every change from the OTS map is a setting in ignition cut settings

Ugh, I need to this BAD. At least for the improvement in normal mode - can’t stand lugging the engine and building boost at like 1000 RPM before it’ll finally upshift just cause I’m moving about in normal traffic.
Quick question. Might have missed it in the video. How much power are you making and was this on the stock trans? I just went top mount with a KLM 6466 Savage and made 770 hp at the wheels. The plan is to get a stage 1 trans rebuild, but I'm wondering if I'm hitting limits on the stock trans and the XHP would help?
I’m currently running a stage 2 OTS. I’d say roughly 450whp. No where close to you hehe.
I read that it was best to give the car about 50-60 miles of driving conservatively to give the TCU some time to relearn after the flash

Stage 3 is the best.. ZF was a gamechanger in AT’s. It’s so insanely good and Xhp just made it even better. Every manufacturer makes their own software for it and they all suck compared to what XHP has done.
My tip for the novices :
- don’t change too many advanced settings after going stage 3. The OTS pack is already really good.
- Don’t switch on drag mode if you don’t need it.
- only switch on basic functionality on the settings you want. Just because you can change it, doesn’t mean you are suddenly an expert mechanic finetuning a race car.

Please use regular seatbelt and maybe extender to make 3 point work. Rigid harnesses and no HANS device is recipe for a basal skull fracture in an otherwise survivable crash.
Not quite as fast as DCT but definitely a must-have upgrade from stock shift points

I used to run stage 3 stock trans until I started slipping on 6th gear.

I have a 2021 2.0t Supra. Can’t tune the car with BM3 like my M140i. I think the ecu needs to go to Femto. But; first step maybe is XHP. Does my ECU needs a visit to femto to do XHP?

Did xhp on my car last year stage 2 with simple bolt-ons shifts were hella smooth. Switched to stage 3 after I did a turbo upgrade, and its extra crisp, but in auto sport mode with vsc off it would hold out the gears until you redline the car. Would not recommend stage 3 if you daily in auto mode only. Play around with the shiftmaps and you can adjust the blips.

No, it has nothing to do with the ECU, its a TCU tune
