I don’t question something I don’t know about but I do question how far is pinky and the brain taking this invasion of privacy to I’m tired of of not being able to be my self but when I’m gone I get to be in peace 🕊️
This may be a bit long-winded & I'll try to make it short. 3 yrs 3 days ago, my brother in law passed. I was tossing a few back with my departed brother in law's best friend and my nephew. Things got heated and were going south fast in a very bad way. My nephew ended it by bringing something to my attention. I only see things in black and white, right or wrong, good and evil, and so on with no shades of gray... you know he's right, I lost my way, no longer was I following the middle path. Years of teaching and self-discipline are almost thrown away in a moment of a lack of self-control. In the end, everything ended on a positive note... even though Big John ( my departured brother in laws best friend) needs to get his ass wooped and eat crow.😂😅😂 I guess what I'm to say is that sometimes you need an outside perspective to get a better view of a given situation.😏
Then it's doing it's job... That poor word is really abused. As I understand it, it's like this- the Id says "I'm hungry," the Ego says "Let's have Mexican," and the Superego says "I want a shrimp California burrito from the place across town." It's ok to have preferences, the real dangers are coveting leading to avarice and sloth, Most of what people blame on the Ego is an overactive Superego throwing a tantrum.
Okay that's not accurate. A more accurate representation would be ID says im hungry. Ego says let's get tacos. Superego says either that's not socially acceptable, is critical of that decision, or rewards that decision. Assuming of course Id, ego, and superego ergo the Freudian view is true. Now most people in New Age spirituality actually hold to the Jungian view of the self. And they used to be friends and colleagues until Jung disagreed with Freud. Freud believed the subconscious is where everything that is suppressed is. Jung did not see it that way. Freud believed religion/spirituality was an escape. Jung believed it is necessary part of individuation. To decide what you believe. Jung also didn't believe sex is the cause of all human behavior. Freud actually contradicted his own work and tried to fit autistic children into his framework even though at that time Autism was being proposed in Germany by Dr. Asperger and Freud called it primary narcissism (Freud did project a lot of himself into his work imo) and all children were born like this. He fell into the camp Autism is caused by harm, but to be fair neurology wasn't even a glint in anyone's eye at this time. Jungian psychology has been proven more true than Fruedian psychology. To confuse you even more because although New Age spirituality is based on Jungian psychology the main difference would be how ego is defined as a defense mechanism and not the entirety of our concious mind. The ego The personal unconscious And collective unconscious. Is the Jungian version of Id, ego, superego I am very greatful for the point you made. It was a good one and very thought provoking. As I had to think a little to translate it to a non Freudian framework of the concept. While I don't agree with that concept of how my psyche works that doesn't mean your psyche doesn't work that way. As our psyches and how they work is as varied as everything else about humans. Im not coming at you although I do think a discussion on this would help with the growth of the collective unconscious.
@@HermeticJazz You make some valid points- I'm a little on the older side, so I'm more familiar with Freud, and most of my Jungian studies were kind of specific, such as Psychology and the Occult. At any rate, I'd like to thank you for taking the time for your thoughtful response, and will use it as a reminder that I need to finish my studies of Jung's works- I got a good start, but I'm an engineer and artist by trade and just spent the last 16 years raising kids, so life got in the way for a while with that one.
@@RazielApollyon that's understandable. I've gotten my psych education on the patient side of therapy. So this is just my opinion and I could be wrong and welcome being told I'm wrong. Psychology though is interesting because there's so many schools of thought and approaches you could get lost in that topic. And things change so often in psychology. Alan Watts has some really good ideas. He has a lot of recorded lectures he has given on the subject. There's this guy Akira The Don that put portions of his lectures to a beat that's motivational and thought provoking.

I usually agree with you. However I can't see the rock your standing on to speak your truth with this. It's almost like your holding expectations on someone else being able to do something you yourself you can't do. And then projecting out saying it's the audiences fault for being triggered. My back is broken. As well as my hand. That's subconscious hu. Will a cheeseburger into the video as you read this. After you post it. That's what you ask someone to believe. Why should you do so
Look up Joe Dispenza He healed his broken back with his mind when all odds were against him and he’s a neuroscientist. Read up on his story and you I hit gain hope from that instead of being a triggered little grumpy pants in my comments
