- Nepal Ep 6: After an incredible trek to Annapurna Base Camp, today we start our journey from Pokhara back to Kathmandu with the first stop over at the hilltop settlement of Bandipur. This was a place I absolutely fell in love with for its architecture and preserved heritage.
This trip was with Nepal Tourism Board in November 2019 for Visit Nepal 2020.

PS: About my mention of 'colonial' architecture- Mistook the architecture to be colonial before I got to know it's Newari. The Victorian street lamps (which I guess are a recent installation to beautify the place more) confused me further. Should have mentioned in the video.

We went to bandipur last November 2019 this is the only the hotel we had breakfast at morning.
Even those lamps are old from Rana Regime period

I have visited Nepal twice with a heli flight to EBC followed by a trek to EBC 7 months later,I just had to cancel my March trip due to this dreadful virus but I will return and now bandipur is definitely on my visit list,it’s beautiful

Sad reality of Bandipur local people don't get any benefits from Tourism. Only rich people are getting richer nothing else.

@@AntarikAnwesan Newari people are the indigenous people of Bandipur because of Tourism possibility in Bandipur, rich people from other area came and established their own big hotels and lodges and local people couldn't compete with them.
All this was told to us by our Professor in our college.

It's so serene and calm in Bandipur...I along with my family always stay for a night while travelling to Pokhara. I love the Newari heritage and the friendly ppl there.
Can't have enough of Nepal. Always fascinating. Been there thrice yet want to revisit again. ❤️
Wow so beautiful place . when i been there i found lots of tourists but today seems some empty and just Nepali locals are surrounding . I think due to corona virus tourists cancelled their's trip. LOVE NEPAL FOR EVER AND EVER.

yes, Bandipur is truly beautiful...we have been there but didn't study much about that place ani didn't know its importance so it feels bad...also that we reached there so late but the views were so beautiful at night ❤❤
Bandipur is my home village
The bandipur siddhi cave is like 300 stairs I went with my school friends and teachers. Inside bandipur siddhi cave we climbed, we also saw bats ,ancient animal s big foot prints.

They are not colonial structure but Newari architecture . Newars are natives of Kathmandu valley.

Its halfway between Kathmandu and Pokhara. You need to stop at Dumre and drive uphill for about 8 km south.

Beautiful video, 👍 from Nepal but u guys must have gone to gufa, it's really amazing, 2hrs walk in cold is much but when you reach gufa and begin to explore inside gufa believe me u ll forgot everything, 15-20mins walk inside gufa is one of the best memories of mine. And it is also considered as second largest cave in Asia.
We were really short on time, so couldn't visit. But next time for sure :)
