A good idea for placing your first base would probably be near your Lifepod. Then, you can relocate when you have the proper equipment to relocate and build a base in your desired location. Just build a beacon before you go tho, for your new base. If you have to make multiple trips, then your Lifepod's Beacon can be useful for locating your old base, since it's nearby.

Couple other types that I seem to be all of them: The non-explorer: only builds around the life pod like their life depends on it The navigator: leaves beacons everywhere, even places with a marker already, and still has to use the compass The compactor: main base is only a scanner, drydock, and a multipurpose room for the generator, it's like parkour to get around. The "traveler": builds so much in the cyclops their base isn't needed except for cell chargers or mods. The prepper: leaves for a mining/exploration trip with half their inventory full of food, water, and cured fish.
I'm a mix between lucky, fearless, and whatever you'd call a player that doesn't read any PDA or scans anything that isn't relevant to furthering gameplay, just straight up focusing on getting upgrades and getting to the next important area. Seriously, here I was just 40 minutes into the game scratching my head about how easy it was to advance. No reaper encounters (I later crafted two extra seamoths just to purposefully finally find a reaper and ghost leviathan and die to them for fun). Then I easily found the blood kelp biome and the lost river (I just chose one direction on the first try at exploring and it happened to go to that tiny sliver of ravine by the sea treader's path). By sheer dumb luck I avoided crab squids, lava lizards, and with my cyclops passed by unnoticed by every sea dragon (one got stuck in the wall). Honestly, I stumbled my way to complete success and it was glorious.
I got lucky in my most recent run, found all of the cyclops engine parts alongside the Aurora and never had to go behind it. And on top of that... Found a toy car in a lifepod! Best run ever! It's sitting on the same shelf I have the toy Aurora on. :D
I remember watching Jacksepticeye play this game and thinking, " Won't be that scary" heard a reaper roar and then closed the game and cried in a corner
Fearless hot tip: If you're going to the crashsite, leave your seamoth at the edge of the grassy plateaus and approach with your your seaglide. The sea glide is faster, and if you need to make a quick escape from scanning because of a reaper, you can escape unscathed. Kind of made it into a game for myself.
I'm definitely a mix of "Scared", "Lost" and "Collector", so my thought process to most things is just "I don't wanna go to the Dunes, but I really need Profitability Projections from large wreck #6. Lemme just check the online map and see exactly what direction I need to go in".

The compactor: main base is only a scanner, drydock, and a multipurpose room for the generator, it's like parkour to get around.
The "traveler": builds so much in the cyclops their base isn't needed except for cell chargers or mods.
The prepper: leaves for a mining/exploration trip with half their inventory full of food, water, and cured fish.
Very solid types to be added :)
😂 omg this got me so bad lol. You are my fav youtuber, man top notch.
Haha thank you so much :)
That’s totally fair - in many other games I also like to skip over the “flavor text” :)
i really was only scared when i discovered warpers could kill me
I definitely understand why :)
Yep they keep warping me out of my seamoth when i go to the southern blood kelp zone
@@creepermyeeper The Blood Kelp Zone is even more dangerous than the Lava Zone. It’s the *real* endgame biome.
I got lucky in my most recent run, found all of the cyclops engine parts alongside the Aurora and never had to go behind it. And on top of that... Found a toy car in a lifepod! Best run ever! It's sitting on the same shelf I have the toy Aurora on. :D
Oh that is very nice indeed! :)
“Unless you’re attracted to sea moths”
Heck now we’re talking
Oh no :O
Loved it! And i'm always lost, that's why i have a bunch of beacon everywhere, i mean, it's a lot.
Haha at least the beacons are a good strategy :)
I remember watching Jacksepticeye play this game and thinking, " Won't be that scary" heard a reaper roar and then closed the game and cried in a corner
Haha yeah the 1st hand experience always hits different :D
"That's unfortunate. These things just keep roaring about here. Just keep calm mate." Nice! :-)
*screaming internally :D
“We got you covered unless you attracted to seamoths” reaper leviathan disapproves this video in the first 30 seconds
Oh I'm sure they would :)
The miner: Builds bases only on sea treaders path and almost makes sure they have every resource they need
That is a smart approach :)
The "fearless" is definition of seeing the leviathan for the 18739401th times.
Exactly :)
Very good advice! :)
I'm building a huge void base and I STILL forget where things are and then wander aimlessly for 30 seconds before I get eaten by a ghost leviathan
Haha sounds like a good time :)
Me with my stasis rifle: “How many times do I need to teach you this lesson old man?!”
That leviathan in the dark: “hello there!!!”
Here we go again :)
"the fearless" jacksepticeye *sees a reaper leviathan* Jack "IMMA STAB IT WITH MY KNIFE!"
no joke, he actually tried it the first time he saw one :P
Very interesting approach :)
You forgot the one that spend the whole time building bases instead of progressing
That one is in part 1 :)
I'm definitely a mix of "Scared", "Lost" and "Collector", so my thought process to most things is just "I don't wanna go to the Dunes, but I really need Profitability Projections from large wreck #6. Lemme just check the online map and see exactly what direction I need to go in".
Love that combination :)
Me with reaper leviathans in creative: * leaves reaper leviathan alone *
Reaper leviathans when I’m in creative: * leaves me alone *
Reaper leviathans when they know I’m in creative, but see a prawn suit: * attacks prawn suit *
My prawn suit: * gets damaged in creative *
Me: I thought that damaging a prawn suit in creative was almost impossible to do!
Yeah they can damage all your vehicles in creative I believe :)
I'm the "terrified of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING" guy until something touches one of my vehicles. When something attacks my vehicle it better have the ability to teleport otherwise I will kill it with a knife no matter how long it takes
Haha gotta get that revenge :)
The tutorialest: the one who starts a survival wanting to find the fragments/blueprints then finds a tutorial.
I love that approach :)
the amount of times I have gotten lost in the Lost River is equal to the amount of millennia queen Elizabeth has lived
Interesting comparison :)
The collector is opening up the first IKEA on 4546B
Haha very accurate :)
The seventh type: The one who lives in subnautica , and doesn't even try to escape. They just accept that they will live forever on that planet
Slightly depressing :)
The murderer: killing every creature near him (including leviathan)
The Doom guy :D
The collector bit spoke to my soul! 😊
Haha nice :D
Immediately as a video began I was denied being in the video
Lmao :D
