Ever try a string and a shop vac to try to pull the wires like the string through the rubber boots. They tend to work pretty well I know a lot of people who work in car dealership should do this. I use a like a shop back or some sort, and it pulls a very light braided fishing line.
Being a 2018 and both lights went out it’s possible to be a fuse but the factory bulbs could have just burned out. Easy and inexpensive to replace. th-cam.com/video/f_ZUQ6HmR6M/w-d-xo.html
@@DieselLegiance my ram 2500 didn’t come with factory tow mirrors. I bought them from the dealer later. So mirror lights don’t work at all. You think this kit will work on my truck?
If the wire harness is not already there by factory on your truck, you may have to run new wires from a power source to the lights on the new mirror. At that point, I would assume you don’t need this kit as you would be running all new wire anyways. This kit is more of an add on kit to turn the lights already there into running lights.
@@randyvanetta5197, the kit will only add the running light function of the mirrors aren’t already equipped with the blinker function. To get the blinker function you can run a wire directly from the headlight and to the Y-harness in the kit, or you can have the codes added to your truck’s BCM so that the door module will have the new mirror functions (blinkers, puddle lights, rotated mirror controls on tow mirrors). A dealer can add the codes or can be added with the AlphaOBD software
Just done mine on my 18 and both and turn signals don't work while lights are on but when there off both turn signals flash on mirror. Any suggestions? Thanks
Go back through and check the wires to the directions as if you tap into the wrong wire it can cause this. When I’m doubt, contact the guy who designed the kits and see if he can walk you through troubleshooting.
I cheated. Lol. And used my own wire. I had the same black/gray wire you had. I was curious if there was any kind of diod that was put in on those jumpers ? Thanks
When you power one side by turning on the blinker would it not also power the other blinker since they are tied together with the same wire making it more like a hazard light?
@@DieselLegiance I literally have the same wiring setup as you and it turns my blinkers into hazards when I use the right or left blinker because it runs the power from the driver side to the passenger side or vice versa. I have even unplugged the connection to the light control thinking it was the wrong wire and my blinkers will still blink together. It's frustrating, as for now I keep the blinkers unplugged in the door and just use them for marker lights until I can figure out what the heck I must be doing wrong.
@@johnnyg8391 Made my own using diodes to fix the blinker issue. I am thinking about ordering the 2.0 from boost because I like the solid on and off blinker with the running lights. If you don't care about the solid on and off with the running lights I would go with jhd lighting.

Awesome mod and video Matt gonna do a same to my 2016 3500 Laramie
Thank you great explaining really helped me
Kool.... What size lift do you have on the black truck? Also the size of tires.... Damn looks awesome
My 2016 Cummins is gray with an 8” McGaughy’s lift and 3” body lift with 40x15.5 tires and 24x14 wheels.
That's a nice little upgrade!!
Did you ever get rock lights in
everything worked great on my ram 1500 it turns on stays on but the left turn signal doesn’t work I’m not sure where I’m going wrong
2023 ram 1500 tradesmen, wonder if you can do the same.. what's the part number for that wiring?
Very informative. Thanks for the info.
I have a 2018 3500 RAM and both of my lights aren't on.....is there a fuse or did they possibly both go out you think? I like this mod.......

Great Content Matt!
Is it possible to run after market roof clearance lights to this and make them run together?
I would assume so but I’d recommend asking the guy who created this kit to be sure.
Hey were can order the kit?
Thanks man, nice trucks!
Do you know if there's any resistance in those Is connectors
Will this harness kit work with boost auto parts switchbacks??
It’s possible but I’d reach out to the seller to be sure.
It will be ok to top it up the positive wire to auto switch.
Would this work on a chevy silverado
It might? Contact the seller to confirm. I put a link to their site in the description.
Did both truck come factory with the tow mirrors?
Yes both mine did

I’m not sure, I did this mod a long time ago and honestly don’t remember.
Any luck?
Will it work with a 2017 slt
It should to my knowledge, but I always advise reaching out to the seller and confirming as I am not 100% sure.
How is the JHD kit working?
Good, no issues.
Still good?
Does anybody know if this works on a 2017 1500 as well? I just want to get straight Amber running lights no turn signals.
Go to the website and message the guy who sells this kit I’m sure he can confirm

Let me save y’all some time….tap the “TAP WIRE” to your cabin/doors light instead …much easier
on the newer trucks door panel lights are low voltage LED not 12v that is why you need to run back to a 12v source
