I meet the requirements to use the IRS DRT tool. My info is correct but I keep getting errors retrieving the info. Not sure who to contact for help. Any ideas? Thanks

@@nals74 That's unfortunately not unusual in the early days of the FAFSA; usually it's just system overload and if you go back later and try again it should work. This week is extra challenging because the recent changes to Public Service Loan Forgiveness have a lot of borrowers trying to update their income info at the same time, meaning added stress on the system.

Thank you for making this video!
Super helpful! If my daughter is graduating early (December 2021) should we apply for the 21-22 AND 22-23 school year at the same time?

Depends on when she would enroll in college since the FAFSA is for specific school years. If she is starting in winter/spring 2022, then yes, do the 2021-22 FAFSA. If not, only 2022-23 is needed.

Super helpful! I’m a senior this year and will be graduating spring of 2022 and will be entering college in the fall. Therefore, should I be applying for the 2021-2022 or 2022-2023 fafsa form?

    • @anngarcia6014

It's based on the school year. You're applying for the 2022-23 school year so use the 2022-23 FAFSA.

I have a question I retired this year and my income has been drastically reduced. How do I input that information? MY income is now my pension. is there a way that I can make fafsa aware of this?

You'll need to contact your school(s) to update your information. Unfortunately there isn't a way to capture this on the FAFSA so it's a manual process.
