This Speedrun was faster than 1 chapter I completed.
The -2 Luck on Sothe's promotion was because, for whatever reason, the 3rd tier Thief class has a lower Luck cap than the 2nd tier Thief class. I have no idea why they did this.

I mean they did remove his A support with Micaiah so he really isn’t getting lucky.
I like that they point out how Haar is so broken he can't NOT kill things.
Fire Emblem: The one game where a 15% will always hit your 2 health guy.

Wow, the enemies are even dumber than I remember. And this may be the only thing staff counterattacks are useful for.
"Thankfully Berzerk Staves don't exist in this game." Actually, unused data suggest the final boss was going to have a full map targeting Berzerk attack at one point. (Instead of full map Stun like in the final game) Of course, you have to REALLY suck in that fight in order for her to get to the point where she'll use it.
+BigKlingy He's also playing on easy mode, so maybe that's why the AI is that way
No, the AI in Fire Emblem in general does this, prioritising characters who can't counter over everything else. Case in point, in any FE games, send your Jagen forward and unequip their weapon. The enemies will go for them every time. I abused this a lot with Titania back in PoR.
+BigKlingy if you need to grind some one up, send a crutch in with nothing equipped and let the weaker one pick em off
I learned this in Fates and abused the hell out of it
staff counters are also useful for grinding up staff rank because they give the staffs full WExp for some reason. :D

i spent days trying to beat 2.4, formulating plans, trying hard not to lose my units.
turns out the proper way to win was just throw haar at the boss. who knew.

Very good couch commentary, very good menuing, very good run for a very good game. Thanks for three hours well spent.
On another note, Edward is my favorite unit in the game (except Haar, **obviously**) so it's dissapointing to see that his 65% Str growth was lying to you by only proc'ing like, once in your levels for him.
Well there is one situation where you recruit a boss mid match. In Shadow Dragon you can speak to General Lorenz with Marth or Caeda and recruit him.
to be fair, lorenz really isnt the "boss" of that map, camus is
So I've seen Blazing Sword, Path of Radiance and now Radiant Dawn speedrun in 1 day. Fire emblem is the best

Actually, chapter 20 of Shadow Dragon lets you recruit Lorenz, the chapter's boss who also guards the base.
Actually the only other character that shares Sothe's class also gets Bane. This class is the Whisper. Volke gets Lethality, he is an assassin.

I have watched quite a few of these but I think Gwimpage is the dopest. For sure.
My top 5 at the end were:
5: Shinon
4: Tibarn
3: Haar
2: Ike
1: Titania
I had horrible luck with Haar for some reason, Nephenee though. Nephenee loved me, her and Laura, Laura just turned out really well for me, got her support with Volug, so that she had a guard dog, and it worked out wickedly. Oh and Lucia, I liked Lucia, she turned out okay.
ChanceRat You can't actually have 'horrible luck' with Haar considering his base stats and attributes. Failing to kill everything with him on anything other than Hard mode is more of a player problem
+Pwrplus5 Well, my Haar got speed screwed, so I couldn't double shit. And the Brave Axe broke.
If you just raise his level in base he should just get his speed up. It's extremely hard to have a bad haar
What version is this it’s so much different? Is it just easy mode has weird stuff going on? I’ve only played normal and hard
It's easy mode. A couple of maps have some differences like different victory conditions
I’ve been watching fire emblem speed runs and I’ve realized the GBA games have better music than the GameCube games

Haar.... like a boss
Bane is actually more useful when used first strike as it negates counter attacks and he kills them next shot.
Why leave the enemy at 1HP when any other mastery skill usually OHKO's everything though?

Radiant dawn is good
RIP Marcia. She is actually quite good in this game too, out of all the Crimean Royals she impressed me the most in my hard mode run.
I also used Meg in that run. She ended up with capped speed, resistance and luck, but she did not cap defense even at lvl 20, barely made it to 30. IDK, she should've been a Pegasus Knight
2:41:27 This entire conversation with Oliver is fantastic, a very big highlight. Only fitting of hte most beautiful character in the series

Wouldn't a "pre-promote" be a unit that has NOT promoted instead of one that comes promoted up a tier?
it's good, but easy just saves the thinking of the strategies making the game about just moving strong units, doing it fast in hard would be the true challenge.
"mist got some use" o.O they realize that mist was OP as fuck in path of radiance right? (at cap stats she is tankier than capped gatrie and is able to one shot many enemies, + if you give her sol shes practically unkillable)
They did mention at some point that a speed run does not necessarily use all the strongest characters, a speed run uses the characters that will be the quickest, and the quickest will be the characters that can kill and move incredibly fast, aka flying units. (also judging from this run, one shot "many" enemies is not enough).

Well, on Hard (Maniac in the Japanese version) there's no way you'd be able to 3rd-Tier Haar in Part 2, as the amount of BEXP required to level up in absurd there.

+Seige H I don't know, I think Ike is probably better than Hector, but to be fair, any 3rd tier unit is massively OP and can really solo the entire game if need be. Ike just happens to exist in the same game as tier 3.
i think ephraim would be number 1 and then ike and then hector
sacred stones is pretty easy and ephraim is just op add these 2 things and you got the strongest lord in all of fire emblem imo
Peter Enis Well think about it like this, you can accidentally get Ephraim killed in SS, while, at least as a vanguard, you can't do much of the same to Ike in RD.

Fe10 Ike is much better than Hector. Top 3 would be Sigurd, Seliph, Ike for sure.

Darth_Diminish The Wolf I know, just a nod at the fact that most of the effort put into the game's visuals is in the cutscenes/battle scenes, and the battle scenes were turned off in this case..
this is easy mode. Not much of a speedrun
To be fair, Radiant Dawn is a huuuge game and playing it on any other difficulty would take too much time and reduce reliability.
Easy mode is essentially Normal Mode in the Japanese version of RD.
Scepkipz sure but I've played Radiant Dawn and it doesn't change the fact that easy mode is insanely easy.
