- This is definitely the weirdest project I ever made. Here I try my hand at coil-building and figure sculpting a gargoyle for the Great Pottery Throwdown episode 5 challenge! He may have ended up looking more like a garden gnome than a gargoyle, but I like him all the same :) Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Totally adorable gnome! Not so scary, but I think he’ll take good care of your garden😊
I’m expecting a 50% greater harvest this year with him watching ❤️
@@PotterytothePeople it should also cause a 20% agility debuff to agressive from zombies and wild plants
Hes cute, he actually looks remarkably like a sand creature that could grant wishes from a british tv show called 5 children and it. 😊
So gorgeous, love your little goat gnome gargoyle!
It just so happened that back in the 70s I had in my hands a gargoyle downspout from the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. It was so cool! 😂
He looks amazing! I want one for my garden now.
yess! i want to make a cute one now 😆
He looks like a little monster from Where the Wild Things Are, I love him!!
I think that this is my favourite of the throwdown series!
thank you! 🥰 it was fun for me too
OMGeeee I just love him and all your projects!!! 🫶🏼
my favourite project so far - how fun!
thank you! it was fun to make 😄
i love this piece, it's so charming. I recently attempted a few smaller sculptural pieces and did suffer cracks. So nice to see this one come out without any!
He turned out great! I love how goaty he is!
I first had to look up what a gargoyle is😂, have never heart this before. Buh, they look scary…., my cats would never come home 😢, but yours is a cute one which I would allow to live in my garden . As always: loved to watch you working. Thank you for the great time!
I have loved watching you do these challenges. I hope you will do more as it seems you’re up to other really neat things lately 😃
It definitely gives me the creeps! Well done!
In addition to the technical details, you do an excellent job walking us through your thought process. He looks great in your yard. Thank you.
So cute! And I love the texture!
thank you! yes the texture really saved it 😆
Not scary! Super cute!❤
He’s so freaking cute!! I love him!
He turned out so good! I love him!
This came out amazing!
thank you!! ❤️
To be honest, I didn’t like it at all at the beginning when you started constructing it. But as you progressed and put in all the texture details and arms and etc, I loved it! Especially it’s final version is I think super cute- not scary at all. But it is true that it’s a weirdo 😂 Great job as always and I love watching your videos!
thank you! yes it was a very TRUST THE PROCESS moment 😂😂 I’m glad you liked the little weirdo in the end though ☺️
I really like the tail too. This is living. Oddly amazing.
hahaha i love how he looks at 20:00 when hes in his lil outfit
I used black iron oxide yesterday for the first time. I’m excited to see how it turns out. Keep up the great work!
yuhu! thanks for watching!
oaau i love this!👏 super cool project
thank you! it was fun!
OMG! I absolutely love him!!! ❤😊
He is a cute little Gnomer.
Gorgeous!!
He is gorgeous!!!
aww thank you :)
Bunny the gargoat 😊
Lol I'm getting all stressed out about the size! 😅😅
yes! i am constantly worried about things fitting in my kiln 😭
@Pottery to the People I worked in a pottery studio for a time. We had 2 much deeper kilns. (Your original idea would have fit easily.) But there were definitely times when we had to be mindful about the size of pieces.
@@ixchelssong, I'd definitely have to ask my studio owner if something of this size would be acceptable even though they have 2 kilns, (one is huge and the other is slightly smaller). Don't want to hog the kiln. 😆
does this creator put any grog in her clay? every ep i've seen from her has only been with new and smooth clay. just thought i'd ask, because this is the 1st time i've seen the extruder and it came out so smooth i couldn't notice anything else but clay in the extrusions!
it’s giving toriel from undertale a little
Lol so cute not scary at all 😂 maybe angry eyes or some sharp fangs would have made him scarier or claws instead of hands but who cares?? Absolutely adorable 🥰
Hi Mia, I'm VERY new to pottery. Just wondering why you would use coils for this project instead of slab? Berni from Australia 🙂
Love this!!!
Also, FYI, this video is not in your Pottery Throwdown playlist.
Love it!
adorable
Very Nice!
How come you don't use slip when you join parts?
no need when the clay is so wet ☺️
Vry cool
It’s a rabbonkey
I was reading the comments before Watch the vídeo and I was thinking about the comments: “is that possible that a gargoyle to be cute?” And them i Watch the vídeo 🤣🤣🤣 very cute! Sorry
hahaha i really tried making it scary I swear 😂😂😂
Please i beg you to make it a little baby to put next to it
🙏 🙏
Mam. You look like Katie from @RoyaltySoaps. 😁
i think this was a good idea that got away from you a bit. not bad tho. looks intentionally creepy.
however i think the arms would look better shorter and bent at the elbow, resting on the legs
:)) LOL
A wingless friend-shaped gargoyle.
This gargoyle can't fly, so he doesn't perch on top of buildings and chooses the ground instead. He is too young for the big job of scare away evil spirits, instead the friendly demeanour encourages garden spirits to be nice and treat your garden respectfully.
Not a real gargoyle as his mouth is shut and no water can run through...Nice gnome though...
haha yes its a garden gnome gargoyle. 😄
Your title is messed up. It should be “I’m on” not “on I’m”.
omg thank you 😂🤦♀️
I love this strange creature, very Pan. You did the eyes really well, eyes on ceramic sculpture can be a bit hit and miss. This creature has kind eyes.
Watching you (and also Throwdown) has got me so enthusiastic for pottery again. I put it aside these last few years due to moving house a lot, and workshop time at my local pottery almost doubled in price, but now I'm confident to do my own thing and my first task back into it will be a set of feature tiles for my new house - thanks for your recent tiles video and all your content!
yay! I’m glad to hear you getting back to it! Pricing are going up everywhere 😵💫 maybe you can make at home and just rent their kilns?
I also love goats, they're pretty great! Love doggo's reaction, what this?? I would absolutely love to see this little guy in a few years time, after he's weathered a few winters. I bet he'll grow moss.
yes!! i put him on a mossy patch so I really hope he grows some in time :)
What a funky little guy! I love it so much. I really like all the different animal details and the wash really looks cool.
I love it so much 😂 this series is so fun to watch!
thanks! i love him too haha :)
It's such a great gargoyle! I loved it when you had it covered halfway in plastic. Looked like a cute demon goat in a raincoat.
I like him. Everyone should have a garden goat-goyle
Oh I'm so excited to see your next video in the series. I've been patiently waiting! Thank you 🙏 I'm excited to watch you and your new creation 😍
**UPDATE**
He's adorable!! 🥰 I love how he became ❤ you did a great job with adapting while creating 🎉 you've inspired me to try to make one for my own garden 🏡 I'll tag you when I am able to make mine.
😊🎨 Art'On 🎨😊
please do! i want to make more gnomes now haha maybe cuter ones this time though 😄
i love you, but i hate that thing
hahahha ❤️
Love it! Did you know gargoyles were the part of the roof/gutter that had water pass out of it. Think Gargoyle / think gargle.
What you made is a Gruesome. A decorative figure.
Regardless, it’s awesome. Love your work.
when I stayed in Germany I used exactly that yellow groggy clay and it is so great ! Very plastic.
To me he is super charming & kind looking ❤ a great mascot for Pottery to the People 😁✊️ brilliant work! Thank you for sharing
You can build a coil horn holder and add the horns after firing.
What a cutie, reminds me of Toriel from Undertale
I loved watching the show but don’t know where to watch it now.
He’s just wonderful
Very nice , am your greatest fan from India, I also like all clay products and learning and will create very soon something for Diwali
This is so adorable. I've been in grad school and sooooo busy but I can't wait to get back to pottery. It's so enjoyable. I'm living vicariously through u.
hope you can get back to it soon! thanks for watching ❤️
I've been having a rough day, but the little plastic babushka wrap around the ears made me laugh with delight.
Your goat muzzle is excellent. Really tied the gargoyle together.
He’s a cute creature but I don’t know about being a gargoyle. Nice job.
Let it be in natural colour as it is, Don't glaze and paint
I love him. He’s amazing.
He’s so quirky!! Wonderful. Can’t wait for the next episode!
thanks! it’ll probably be up in 3 weeks :)
I have been watching the channel for a little bit now and I’ve been wondering on who she looks like she looks so similar to another TH-camr that I watched then I remembered that she looks exactly like Julia on the TH-cam channel called Abbie and Julia 😮
I really like the tail too. This is living. kind of oddly amazing.
He's got such a lovely face! I hope the outdoors is treating him well
i love it!!! i love going to sleep to your videos
im in love with this creature
He reminds me a bit of those weird biblical creatures you see sometimes,,very cool!❤
HE’S SO CUTE
He kinda looks like the creatures from Where The Wild Things Are!
you could call it a gardengoyle.
i don't know if anyone has made that joke
He turned out so good. I love his tail and the little horns. But you didn’t name him.
What a great garden protector
Goat eyes creep me out a lot so yeah I think it’s scary lol
At what height is your extruder?
It makes my day when you post!
aww that is so nice to hear 🥰🥰
Love your little buddy!
I LOVE HIMMMMM
Looks great, looks like a goat ❤
Turned out great!

hahah i really tried 😂😂 thanks for watching ❤️
I just gnome your sculpture will be so scary that I just could bear to look at it....
Sorry 😊
😆😆
Very cool. He looks like he belongs outside under the tree.
he’s very happy outside and hopefully he will grow some moss someday :)
gargnome
That looks really cool. Wouldn't it look even cooler if it had marble green eyes with the goat like pupil. 🐐🐐🐐
