Chris did a great job in telling that history. That was very education and the first time I'd heard it.
If I am ever close to Hampton I will plan to come in to see the exhibition first hand. Thank you so much I so enjoyed it.

Margaret Cornish Sweat was my 10 great grandmother. She was an Angolan Woman taken as a slave and brought over in the 1600 She was brought over on a ship. She was sold for corn in Virginia. My distant great grandfather was an indentured servant from England. I'll bet this is the same time when she came over

No Africans were ever slaves. They invaded and moved here and wiped out nearly all the original people and made them slaves. The Negros who were the Jews and original people of North and South America. The Africans and other Asians from Cyprus continued to wipe out and oppress them.

So glad someone has the history correct that the first slaves on ships that were taken from Africa to the new Americas were chartered by the Spanish and brought to the English colonies during the celebration of their harvest in late August this was the first year that they actually felt that their future was promising rather than barely surviving. It's so sad that just as the English were beginning to be prosperous and be hopeful for their future that the slaves were brought in to taint the future of America. I wonder what America would have been like if there were no African slaves if America would have at all became and as rich and powerful as it did.

The fact that millions of Afrikans were kidnapped and shackled shows just how greedy & evil the intention of stealing Ndongans for enslavement. I'm with you, who manufactured these shackles? Was it the Afrikans? Did the European colonizers trick them? Were the shackles manufactured in Europe? Where did Europeans get iron?

@@edglenn4They were supposed to be slaves because of the curse of Ham. Notice the guy speaking keeps putting his hands in the shape of the pyramid. These slaves were freemasons the grand children of Esau the Amalekites. After them other Canaanites from Chittim /Cyprus came from Asia. All of Asia was Ham. They came to wipe out the Jews (Negroes) and that's what they nearly did. What was left became slaves. The mark of Cain is the mark of the beast 616 and 666. 1619=616.
They got cursed for this and its horrible curse the reason we have 911.

The first African slaves in America didn't arrive in 1619. It was actually in the early 1500s.

Thanks for joining the conversation. That is correct. The first enslaved Africans arrived in the Americas in the 1490s. The first enslaved African we can document in what is now the United States was a man named Estaban who was brought to Florida with a Spanish expedition in 1527. However, our purpose in this video is to discuss the first Africans we can document in the English colonies of North America, which would be the group that arrived on the White Lion in August 1619.

Our focus is on the first group of Africans who arrived in Virginia aboard the White Lion and Treasurer in 1619. Those ships landed in Hampton. Anthony Johnson arrived in Virginia from England two years later in 1621. He is mentioned in our 1619 Report and FAQ's linked in the video description above. www.hampton.gov/Faq.aspx?QID=812

My question is how would these slave ships be able to hold up against 20 to 30 or 40 ft waves out in the middle of the ocean considering that they were supposedly out at sea for like 2 months ? Not to mention they supposedly carried hundreds of slaves at a time in these ships ! Something ain't adding up here . And out of all these slave ships , there's not 1 single ship that was kept and setup as a historic marker to back up this history that we have been taught ! Don't get me wrong because I do believe that there were slaves transported by ships but these numbers just don't add up and a ship back in them days would've sunk with hundreds of people on board , not to mention them 20 to 40 ft waves that are going to happen during a storm out in the ocean . There's no way those wooden ships would've been able to stand up to those massive waves . Yeah now we got ships that can stand up to those massive waves but guess what ??? Those ships are made from iron and steel . We gotta remember we didn't have technology back in the 1600s and 17 and 1800s that could transport hundreds of slaves . This story was a cover up to hide the fact that these devils were killing the native Americans by the thousands so the white man could take complete control over this country ! What a shame for them because they obviously ain't read revelation 13:10 in the bible where it says he that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity and he that killeth with the sword must be killed by the sword . There's another slavery period that's coming in the future to where the so called white man gotta pay for his crimes that he's committed against humanity and it'll happen when the Lord returns to set up his kingdom here on earth after he destroys everything that we built these days and it'll be rebuilt by the so called white man during the 1000 years of rebuilding the kingdom of the most high . Read also Isaiah 14: 1-2 , Ezekiel 25 :12-15 and Amos chapter 9 ! Nobody wants to talk about that but that's a prophecy that the most high has put in place and it's going to be bad on you devils because you're going to recieve double of what your forefathers did to our forefathers and we'll be ruling this earth with our Lord Yahawah . So be prepared and get your minds ready for that time that's coming

None of this information he's talking about with the first slaves coming to America is accurate He's teaching history that's taught that is wrong The first slaves that were brought to America were in fact brought on a Dutch ship basically piloted by French people who are disguising themselves as Dutch settlers to escape the detection of what they were doing by the English government The ship was full of English people and French people No Dutch people and there was only 20 slaves the ship was not a ship from Portugal the ship had nothing to do with Portugal I'm so tired of seeing all these false lies about history in America This is the second video I've seen with something different than what actually happened and it's ridiculous The first slave ship to arrive in America only had 20 slaves it was piloted by French people posing as Dutch people I think people should go pick up books that are actually from homeschooling because they teach the accurate stuff This man is teaching stuff that is taught to people in public schools and that is literally just lies And yeah this is not the only version of this lie there's many other versions of this lie but the true actual version is my version

At the beginning of this video, the narrator says he is going to talk about the first Africans in "Virginia," not "America". He also states towards the end that their arrival "led to" the establishment of chattel slavery in what became the US. In fact, it was not until around 1655 that a Virginia court said that an African could be considered indentured to his master for life. That master was a (formerly indentured) Angolan plantation owner who had arrived in the Virginia Colony in1621. Look up "John Casor."

The historical record is clear: We can say with absolute certainty that the Africans brought to Virginia in the early 1600s were indentured servants exactly like their English counterparts. Every known historical record points in that direction. No historical evidence points in any other direction. They were no more "property" of the planters who had paid their passage than were the English indentures. It took a series of court cases in the late 1600 to turn Africans into "property". Many of the early African indentured servants went on to own property of their own and to pay for indentured servants of their own. Anthony (Antonio) and Mary Jones were just one example of the African indentured servants who worked off their indenture terms and then went on to become prosperous planters. Your speculative narrative reflects inventive 21st century interpretations rather than serious scholarship. You do no honor to the real stories of the original Africans who populated Virginia. Their memories deserve better. Your narrative can't change the historical record. In some ways, there was more justice for Africans in Virginia in the early 1600s than in modern times. That is a reality that you should research. Africans had access to courts, to property (land) titles, to churches, to markets, and in many other ways they had a degree of equality that would not be approximated in the 20th Century. Don't twaddle about the research that you have done; I'm appalled at the scholarship and historical records that you have chosen to ignore!!!
