  • Being a watch owner is simple, right? You put it on, it tells you the time? No, no it is not. Owning a watch may be simple, but being a watch owner, a watch person, is a very different story. We’ve got the new HMS002 and BICOMPAX 002 from Baltic here to convey what that’s actually like. Perhaps a few of these may be familiar to you …

Love the video. Personally I would rather go out without my panties out then without watch. When I was younger, I was very high and low on kg it seemed to me that my hand with the watch is double the size, and was pretty convinced that it's complex. Later whidought even notice I got kilograms and few watches also. For 35 years I take off my watch only and only when shower, and allweys have at least 4 good ones, don't count ones that doesn't work because of some small problem. Watching video, you help me realize knowing all reasons why someone wears them it really is all about the filling of controle at least something in your life, even knowing you have non controle off almost anything at all. You almost hit on something interesting with the second point. Many watch owners, myself included, find that when asked the time by a stranger we sort of stutter for a few seconds. Time telling on analogue watches commonly becomes free from digits, save for the position of the hour hand. A lot of us learn to know the time just by the shape the hands make, where the current time is more of a feeling than a data point. I'm not doing a good job of explaining it but I'm sure many of you know what I mean. Otherwise nobody would own a clean dial, and movado would go out of business.

Lol, thanks to Baltic for letting you demonstrate those. Heck, you don't even need a watch in this video. Just listening is a great pleasure.

I like the way he describes the watches here. Well written and presented. I was, however, hoping to see his take on the watches in the thumbnail tho, not just excellent macro shots and an interesting description of factory standard humans. Still, well done.

My ocd can’t deal with that weird curve on the ‘c’. Ill not even get into the finishing, but for the price I guess it’s ok. Nice dialogue !! Very accurate.

This video hit me right where I live. I'm staring at the scratch my Seiko got in a doorway I've had for 5 years 1 month after I bought it.

Forgot the watch...check! Looking for the time then forgot to actually see it...check! The pain of that first scratch on a beloved watch...check! And on it goes...Thanks for a great vid that I definitely have to watch a few times!

What a spot on video! I laughed and cried.
I bought my second watch Glycine Airman 17 (maybe do a video about Glycine :)) to celebrate having actual salary for flying an aircraft. I knew there are going to be scratches. But I also knew the majority of them would be from a cockpit. Now I have scratches and a dent or two. I know my watch tells the story and it is pleasing me rather then driving me mad.

1:19 - the Metal Gear Solid "guard alerted" sound effect! Nothing more apropos to a video about mechanical watches than taking a sound from a game called "Metal Gear."
Of course, that's just where I first was introduced to it.

    1) Extending the repertoire - ‘Talking Hand Guy’ also nails ‘Talking Wrist Guy’
    2) PhD thesis on ‘The biochemical and neurological impact of watch-shop receipts on Spatial Awareness’ accepted
    3) Bambi’s Mother - best laugh of lockdown 2. Sick, but very very witty.
    Thanks 😊
