      Not worth listening to. He is a Reformed theologian (Calvinist). Thanks, but no thanks.

    "The Bible comes with hermeneutic included...It is found in the text. God has declared the rules for interpreting His Word. We didn't make them up, rather the way the Biblical authors read their Bible is the way they wrote their Bible and demand for us to read their Bible, their writings. God has embedded in the Scripture the way and the rules for It's interpretation. We did not make up a literal, grammatical, historical hermeneutic -- God declared it." - Abner Chou, "Grammatical-Historical Hermeneutic: It's Defense and Demand for Premillennialism"

      @@danielwarton5343 Where in the Bible does it say, the hermeneutic must be: "Literal, grammatical-historical"? Or perhaps, Is this a conclusion drawn from one's study but not really based on a given, written Biblical text?

    • @abjoseck9548
      @abjoseck9548 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matt Hagen, you wrote: "We did not make up a literal, grammatical, historical hermeneutic -- God declared it." Sir, I thought the BIBLE as a book is a piece of inspired literature that employs literary devices like Parable, Symbolism, figures of speech, idiomatic expression, theological propositions, historical narrative, etc...and not just a simplistic "Consistent Literalism" herme approach!

      @@abjoseck9548 why not take it literally. At what point do you stop it being literal? Is Jesus real? You end up with the Jesus seminar.
      Obviously some of scripture is poetry and Jesus used parables but we understand those texts as the form they were written in. When God says something will happen, that’s good enough to take as literal.

    Thank you for that lecture, but have trouble understanding explanation on 2Thess2. Would love to hear explanation slowed down, and verse by verse what you believe the Apostle Paul is speaking on in 2Thessalonians2 on the man of lawlessness and falling away coming first.. God bless you guys 🙏.

      This is why I will never purchase the translation that this guy is involved with. The Legacy Standard bible (LSB). By the way, 2Thes 2:2 speaks about an event that was going to take place in the future of the people of that time, not in our future. If these so-called theologians can’t figure that out, they are not worth my time. Pre- Millennialism is a hoax created by people who don’t know how to read the scriptures in the context given. Try 1Thes 2:14-16 and see what Paul is talking about, add to that Mat. 22:1-12, 23:34-39. See what you come up with. ;-)

      I know this is 2 years later, but I highly recommend Dr. Andy Woods' very short book, "The Falling Away, Spiritual Departure or Physical Rapture?"
      Dr. Woods has also addressed this on his TH-cam channel.

    I assume Dr Chou's poweefull for a historical grammatical interpretation would get a resounding amen from most prominent partial preterist postmelanialists from how they consistently treat Biblical texts go back constantly to the Bible making sure the Bible interprets the Bible.Its dispansationalists to whom I have been listened to for most of my life that undermine this truth.
