@@meathir4921Late, but why do I not have trouble fighting Fortissax with consistent head shots? I find it super easy. I don’t mean to be bragging or anything as he isn’t a hard boss but I just don’t have trouble with getting head hits. It feels like he always lowers it enough but I could see how it could be a pain with a dagger or if the crimson lightning aura covers you. One of the best videos I have ever seen on TH-cam, really, it actually showcases how different ER's bosses are compared to Dark Souls & Bloodborne, and how, when mastered, they become so ridiculously satisfying & fun in ways the previous games just cannot compare, it's just there are the Souls veterans that didn't like these bosses because they think they're "unfair" which is a ridiculous comment tbh. It just goes to show how Elden Ring's combat system & bosses really work at incentivizing aggressive play, through the use of boss aggression, position based combo branching & flowcharts that reinforce the non-turn-based aspect of the new combat compared to the previous Souls games, attacking bosses during their combos by jumping over the moves, low profiling, strafing, out-spacing, hitting them during the delays and slow wind ups, guard countering are all fundamental for the melee player, the bosses punish passivity (ER wants you to be aggressive just like the bosses are) while also the stance system, in particular, is a game changer for rewarding constant skilled and calculated aggression from the player, just a very informative video about teaching the viewers what the bosses want out of you, the most important pillar you have to focus on when fighting against bosses in ER is POSITIONING, it is paramount, we had bosses in previous Souls games where positioning mattered, like Ludwig from BB, Orphan, Pontiff from DS3 and others as well, but all of them didn't emphasized that as much as ER's bosses, which is what made ER's bosses so ridiculously satisfying to counter their attacks by finding punish windows in-between them, it's why the bosses are extremely aggressive, so you have to resort to finding those punish windows & when you begin to do that, you'll notice you have many new punish windows you never thought you had before just because of that mindset change, utilizing jump attacks to avoid Malenia's normal slash attacks & then hitting her on my way down with my colossal sword breaking her posture is so gratifying. Btw I know how you can run away from the skull rain attack which Rykard spams a lot of skulls chasing you, just keeping running around the boss while keeping your distance away from him as he'll keep attacking you with his sword, until the skulls finish, then return to your onslaught of attacks against him, yeah I know the attack is annoying but not unavoidable like some people in the community say.

I want to first say thank you for posting this RL1 + 0 all bosses video. Especially that you have added extremely informative comments that helped me learn how to no-hit many bosses. The Maliketh comprehensive guide is my favorite boss guide video, it led me to appreciate his boss design more than before. Recently, another gamer showed me his melee fights against Fortissax, which all adopt a headshot & stance break strategy that makes the fight faster than other melee strats and the longbow strat. I’ve uploaded a fight he did under the same restrictions that you’ve listed here with some comments, please check it out if you are interested. Thanks again for making all the valuable content on this channel! Hope to see you again when the DLC comes out :)
Solid run! Was looking for a new challenge, now trying to complete your run with the same rules (except with damage allowed). Your video is a really good guide, I've been following the weapon choice strategy! Had to improvise for Draconic tree sentinel, didn't have Alabaster sword yet. I used te Club for the quick CR2 and your trick with the Throwing daggers was so helpful. Keep it up man!
I love this. Something I found out during my level 1+0 is that I find it easier to have Misericorde in the main hand and whatever weapon i am 2 handing in the offhand. That way I only have to 2hand my offhand weapon instead of swapping from the Misericorde and then 2hand after doing a critical. Of course, if you are using a shield, say, stacking twinkite shield with the red feathered branch sword then thats a different story.
Great video. I was curious what the answer to Fortissax was after beating him in my RL1 playthrough, it was extremely difficult to figure out, but light roll made it easier. I found out that never playing under Fortissax means the lightning doesn't attach to you, but this just means the fight lasts forever because he barely does any head-punishable attacks (like all other dragons of this type). Funny when I click this video and I see you using a bow, LMAO. This seems like the appropriate solution. Fortissax and Lansseax are unbearably annoying with melee. Also, do you have that dodge clip for Astel? (42:00)
Yeah, Fortissax is born of the weird situation of FromSoftware trying to replicate a Darkeater Midir type of fight while seemingly missing all the points that made his fight so good and fair. As a result we get those abominations :) I started using bows on him as a joke but quickly realized it's an optimal weapon choice. The Enchanted shot AoW takes it even further by giving guaranteed headshots, and I meant to give Radahn's rain a try sometime as well, that sounds promising. And oh oops, here is the Astel clip: th-cam.com/video/dpq9naCjhxg/w-d-xo.html I forgot to add it to the description, thanks!
Thank you very much! I play on keyboard and mouse haha, but I've encountered a fair amount of other challenge runners over the years and the majority - if not all - of them use claw grip to sprint and move camera at the same time. Cheers!
Thanks ! The Alabaster greatsword has an insanely low stamina consumption on its R2s/charged R2s, making it a super good weapon for RL1. Not meeting the int requirements decreases the magic damage, but you still benefit from the full physical damage which is what matters the most !
@@Jordien that's interesting, thank you! Given what you say i'm surprised I've never seen anyone else use it at rl1. I guess the serpent hunter is just too good lol
Thanks for the guide, this is incredible. Subbed. I would like to know why you limit yourselves by not using infusions and other effects. It just makes the run too long, even it's amazing. Also, I plan to do a one-hit run for example for Commander Niall. Any suggestion? For him I think parry is the best way.
Yep, it's a pretty cool trick. Unfortunately for most fights it's not worth over rolling and doing a charge attack, since ER loves to input drop CR2s after a jump and your character just stands still wasting the window. Unless you have a jump focused build of course, but I'm not using those for now.
GG. I have a question why did you choose the Mantis Blade & Alabaster Lord's Sword in particular? & wouldn't the fight against Gideon made easier if you fight him before Malenia, Mohg & or Rykard?
Those two weapons were meta for lvl 1 before the patch that buffed Iron Balls, which outclasses them now. As for Gideon, fighting him after other remembrances makes him lose his Triple Rings of Light which is a godsend
Nice video, I've made it to DTS and I'm slowly learning your strats. I'm curious though, how did you get to sewer mohg without killing Draconic Tree Sentinel?
@@Jordien Oh ok I should have known, thanks for the reply! I finally beat DTS and I'm going to see sewer Mohg. I could not figure out how to get the free cr2 after the second slam (I get hit by the shockwave). You are truly a master of this game!
This is incredible endurance! Exceptional work. But I have question. In the description, you say no AI breaks. Do you not consider the Radahn turn around method an AI break? My view is it is, because, his vocal grunts break and are removed, indicating this isn't the intended way to fight him. I don't care you did this btw, you do you! I just wanted to get your thoughts on this? Also your comment on Fortissax is so spot on! He is that much easier with any bow than a physical build. Glad to see someone else mention how poorly designed these dragons are!
Thanks! Runs like these are great to learn bosses in depth, even annoying ones like Rennala (unfortunately). By AI breaks I was referring to making bosses unable to fight back or hard looping them (which doesn't happen much in Elden Ring, but it's a rule carried over from other Souls games where AI loops are easier to do). I didn't count Radahn's arrow phase since it's 1.consistent to dodge with the exact same route every time and 2.is extremely boring and a waste of time when grinding endurance runs like these. I actually didn't notice his voice missing until a friend pointed it out recently in a vc, but since it doesn't change anything else to the gameplay of the fight itself once Radahn draws out his swords it was fine in my book :)
Bravo !
Question, do you not have to respect the Carian Straight Sword against Morgott like you do with Margit? Also, find it strange that you said not to attack Mogh in idle; I’ve never been punished with a jump R1 Zweihander against Mogh idle unless I stall too long or whiff an attack or something that ticks him off.
Against Morgott you do not, since 90% of Margit and Morgott's movesets are different and Morgott does not have that frame trap combo with light swords. As for Mohg, yes he likes to react to player attacking him in idle with a Bloodflame talons or a special stab he uses when he detects that. You might get lucky and have him do something else but that's not safe and one day he'll demonstrate it.
Is the Alabaster Lord's Sword really the highest damaging greatsword at these stats? That is odd since you don't even have the intelligence to wield it.
Yep, it's extremely low (and probably bugged) stamina consumption on charged attacks make even the increased stamina cost from partial requirements viable. Not meeting the int req negates the magic damage, but your main focus is the physical damage anyways on this weapon, which is very generous
Morgott is one of the most complex bosses FromSoft has ever made, learning him is a wild ride. Most of his combo strings have different mixups depending on your positioning relative to him (front, side, back etc) so the key is to keep testing the combo branches until you''re confident of the windows to punish during his combos, not only at the end of one. For example his Double holy dagger hit can be rolled and punished, he follows up with the horizontal sword + hammer swipe, dodge and do a quick punish at his front for him to follow with a vertical hammer slam, which then comboes into his helicopter spinning move which can be massively punished after sprinting around it. It's a 4 attacks combo in total which grants 3-4 punishes, and that same logic applies to most of his moveset. Once again, it's not going to be easy but very useful once learned. Good luck !
@@Jordien thanks for the reply. I beat him since then but had to use all my flask because I kept getting hit. Lol Morgott is definitely a complex character to learn and adapt too
A reliable way is using Bloody Slash on an item you don't meet the requirements for (e.g Erdsteel dagger): it'll not spend fp but still drain your health. You can even face a wall to make the BS animation bounce off of it and double the speed of the process!

Btw Commander Niall's Lightning kick like at 1:18:08 & at 1:18:29 can be jump-attacked over it, you can jump it safely.
As for Gideon, fighting him after other remembrances makes him lose his Triple Rings of Light which is a godsend
please just do a "quick" video on what to do when renalla is not dumb, should i just reset for the better?
Wow, all these bosses are way OP after the 1.09 patch. You're gonna have to update this vid.
None of the bosses were changed, what do you mean?
@@Jordien just take godrick, after the patch every attack in phase 2 is a fire/fire storm attack now and his stamina has been buffed.
lol wtf are you talking about
Nice video, I've made it to DTS and I'm slowly learning your strats. I'm curious though, how did you get to sewer mohg without killing Draconic Tree Sentinel?
I switched the order out accidentally, sewer Mohg was supposed to come after DTS of course
@@Jordien Oh ok I should have known, thanks for the reply! I finally beat DTS and I'm going to see sewer Mohg. I could not figure out how to get the free cr2 after the second slam (I get hit by the shockwave). You are truly a master of this game!
New video W moment
@@Jordien Appreciate the detailed reply! You have some seriously in depth knowledge of these games! Which is why I asked.
Bravo ! 😮
57:10 is isshin like inane lol
goated
Is the Alabaster Lord's Sword really the highest damaging greatsword at these stats? That is odd since you don't even have the intelligence to wield it.
Yep, it's extremely low (and probably bugged) stamina consumption on charged attacks make even the increased stamina cost from partial requirements viable. Not meeting the int req negates the magic damage, but your main focus is the physical damage anyways on this weapon, which is very generous
Help! You haven’t showed me how to fight shoulder of Godrick!?!?!? Seriously wtf man I don’t know how to beat him like how genuinely how
Wait for the day AC orders a Soldier of Godrick guide from me, we both know he'll do it at some point ;)
god gamer
Tips on Morgott? Keep trying to go in for opening but get punished. How should I bait him?
Lol Morgott is definitely a complex character to learn and adapt too
How do you lower your hp to proc red feathered?
A reliable way is using Bloody Slash on an item you don't meet the requirements for (e.g Erdsteel dagger): it'll not spend fp but still drain your health. You can even face a wall to make the BS animation bounce off of it and double the speed of the process!
Nice, thanks! Doing my no upgrade run after I did first ever RL1 couple months ago and its hell lol, even went crazy and used the bug to instakill niall because i cbf dealing with the banished knights just to fight him, at least I have so many other boss choices now like maliketh/astel
