National Media needs to accept that Ole Miss is a title contender | Ole Miss Rebels Podcast

Today's Locked on Ole Miss podcast we talk about the the national media while they think Ole Miss Rebels and Lane Kiffin are going to be good I don't think they think Ole Miss is a real threat to compete for the title in 2024. Games vs the LSU Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners and Georgia Bulldogs will go a long way to a playoff run.
In the second segment of the show we talk PFF and their love for Princely Umanmielen and the attributes he brings to the Ole Miss Rebels defensive line for Pete Golding and how he may be building the defense to be in the future for the former Florida Gators star. Ole Miss also added Walter Nolen from Texas A&M and they join JJ Pegues from the Auburn Tigers and Jared Ivey from the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
In our final segment of the day we talk about what is going on with the baseball program currently and is there a way out for Mike Bianco after two key players leave.

To be fair, Ole Miss needs to beat an elite team. We have elite talent but if we don't beat other elite teams (top 5/top 10) we aren't going to have national title respect.

My personal opinion on baseball ( which I love ) , if that happens to be the sport OleMiss lets take a backseat , I don’t like it, but I get it. So be it, but if that’s the direction things are going because of the NIL , everybody needs to quit with the fire Bianco crap . Let the man that built the program into a national powerhouse, who won a freaking Natty leave when he’s ready . I mean seriously, if you’re going to restrict his budget to a level that nobody can win in the SEC with, why fire him for it ?

I kinda see Ole Miss and Oregon in the same boat. But as of today Oregon still has one major feather in their hat ...they DID beat Ohio State in Columbus. Ole Miss does not have that marquee win...yet 😊

The National Media needs to accept Ole Piss as a title contender. You're right. At least until it gets drummed by LSU in Baton Rouge.
I know LSU's offense must take a step back right? I mean, no way Nuss is and has always been a better thrower than JD5. No way is LSU elite WR room even more elite than last year's LSU's elite WR room, but it is. No way LSU has the best OL and TE room in the SEC, but it does. No way is LSU's newly revamped running game is more elite than last year, but it is.
No way LSU's new defense will be significantly improved, but it will be. Not only on the interior defensive line, the DEs, the Linebackers, and even Harold Perkins everybody's favorite All American, will all be significantly better. Not to mention that &&M transfer Jardin Gilbert, Major Burns, and the slew of DBs will all be significantly better in 2024 as well.
I mean, its remarkable how many things can change and remarkably improve in only one season. I mean, if Ole Miss is considered a title contender, then as always it is at a lower level title contender than LSU. As LSU's lips are drooling it is so anxiously awaiting for sweet revenge coming in Baton Rouge. As there is one place Ole Miss nearly never wins and that is in Baton Rouge.

Not to mention, the word everybody got at the Manning Passing Academy is that Jackson Dart had the Worse night throwing out of all the SEC QBs while uhm....Garrett Nussmeier had the best night throwing.
Moreover, nobody gives respect. You want respect, earn it. As you you guys can't ever get it done in Baton Rouge. You guys beat LSU in Baton Rouge and then I will give you my respect, but until that miracle, which is what it will take happens, you won't have any respect from me or anyone else.
In other words, if you guys want to win a natty, then you'' first will have to go through Baton Rouge to do it. Nonetheless, Baton Rouge always destroys Ole miss's dreams.
