Ladies this was soooooo gooood, thank you. I always worked outside the home. I left the work place 2018 and have never looked back. I missed so much of my kids, but I have come to understand, I did what I had to do.
I take a break for lunch during the day, and do not feel guilty. One day a week I get out just for me.
My home and family and my faith are my priority. I am loving this time of life.

This was so good!! I follow each of you and I gain so much insight and knowledge from you. I am retired and an empty nester with 6 grandchildren but I love to hear how you all are doing your mothering and homemaking. Each of you are so blessed in these modern times of TH-cam, podcasts, blogging, etc. I worked outside the home for 36 years while raising my sons. I envy these times for all the information out there on the internet on how to live better lives. We had little to no information on everything!! Thank you for sharing your lives, families and womanhood!!

I am so happy hearing you three chat. I wish I had this when I was a young mom raising six kids. Now I'm living my best, almost retired life, working one day a week and taking care of one of my granddaughters. I'm letting her play independently, as you recommended. I have totally been that grammy-caretaker who is on the floor playing with her on demand. Of course, I know she needs to learn to play independently, and so I am intentionally making that a thing. We also go on errands & adventures, now I have a fun term for that.
We hit a library program every week, too, they are great. Check your local/County library to see what they have.
I LOVE Megan and Jayna!!!! Thank you jayna I needed to hear that it is ok for us moms to take a break… I always feel guilty if I’m not constantly doing housework during nap time. What a great video !!!!!!! You 3 ladies are inspiring ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ally favorite ladies in one place! I cannot at all relate to being bored or not having enough to do. Haha! Having no dishwasher and no laundry machine in my home definitely adds to the amount of time I need to get my work done!
Jayna's comment about us being on duty 24/7 🙌🙌🙌 My husband doesn't understand this concept and I can't figure out how to explain it any better, but it's just that thought that I might be needed at any moment. My sleep is lighter because my mind is on call at all times and I can practically hear my boys when they breathe louder in their room. Such a mentally exhausting job being a mom. I absolutely love it, I love being a homemaker, and I love my kids more than anything. But it's definitely not easy. I used to be a teacher and I think about how I had a contract that supported me getting a duty free lunch and planning period. That doesn't exist as a stay at home mom. I've definitely been learning to find those free moments for myself, especially as we are expecting another baby at the end of the year.
Those cleaning charts where it is scheduled on a certain day didn't work for me either!! I now have cleaning charts that are daily, which I know without looking, then weekly and monthly, every 6 months and yearly, which when I do them I mark it off, and do something else on the list. I also clean my whole house when visitors come or we have a party at our house, otherwise I just try to maintain it. Great video! 😀
Jayna you are very blessed to have fallen in love at a very young age.
This is a fun to watch! I am a grandma now but when I had 3 of my children at home, Saturday was cleaning day. We all had 3 chores to do. I wrote out what needed to be done and we would take turns drawing out 3 jobs and then do them. It worked well for us. Time goes so quickly, enjoy your time with family! There’s nothing more rewarding other than watching your kids excepting the Lord into their heart and lives. ♥️

Don't overwhelm yourself with too many forks in the fire. Saying no more often allows a mind change to a yes easier than the reverse. Stop comparing yourself to anyone else, be yourself, know yourself. Many roads lead to Rome. All those trite observations aside, finding inspirations from other dedicated Moms is very valuable, too. Nice podcast!

I loved hearing you all brainstorm through the pain points of getting kids ready to go out the door. We realized a few years ago and that it made no sense for us to have our kid's clothes upstairs so we have 2 baskets in an ikea unit for both our kids. They each have one basket for shirts and one for pants on the main level. As soon as they come downstairs every morning, they get dressed immediately and it's been great! Also, I decided our color palette a long time ago and I only buy in that color palette so the kids are able to mix and match and always look nice no matter what they wear at least on the weekdays. I only buy blue and grey pants and shirts that match with that. Since I don't buy black pants, then I usually don't by black shirts either again so that all the shirts can easily match with the blue or grey pants. Similarly, I only buy blue or grey shoes for play shoes. For church shoes, we do black shoes and on Sunday mornings we all go upstairs together and get dressed (since all our rooms are upstairs) and we keep the church clothes hanging upstairs. The boys can each pick a shirt and then I pick the pants that go with them. Again, I do try to make sure everything can mix and match as much as possible. For the weekdays, we love having clothes downstairs. It has made it so easy that my husband can wake up with the boys by himself with ease because the clothes are a non-issue. Lisa, great idea to put the clothes for the youngest 4 under your bed to make Sunday mornings easier! Thank you for all your lovely content. I always learn so much :)

Yay! So fun to watch the 3 of you together!!! This was so fun and helpful. I am a SAHM and I home school my 2 children who are in K and 3rd. I have some chronic illness and it has made me really work hard to figure out how to make my home schooling and homemaking work for us! I always love hearing how other Mom's do it and gain ideas to try! Right now we are very minimalist in our processions which helps cut down on cleaning tremendously! In the mornings we do chores, self care and breakfast and then we do devotions and discipleship and then schoolwork! We are done with it all around noon. After lunch my kids play together and I rest, do my own devotions, listen to podcasts ect. They get screen time at 3 pm. Or if I am feeling well we get together with friends, go on field trips, or do random things like Megan said! I love to mix it up and do spontaneous and fun outings when my body will cooperate! Evenings are relaxed and we eat dinner as a family, play with Daddy, and then he reads to them or we watch a family movie before bedtime. Like Jayna, I find a lot of comfort these days in my cleaning and home care tasks. It really brings me grounding after some hard seasons of life. I also love the flylady and learned that a load of laundry a day keeps the chaos away (Also like Jayna, I only need to do it about 4 days a week!) Right now my 'side hustle' is homeschooling. I love researching curriculum, learning styles, and find so much joy sitting down and connecting with my children while teaching them school. I really loved what Jayna said about keeping some space in her life so that she can mentally and emotionally be there for her hubby and kids. That is so important! There is so much joy in the Motherhood journey!!

I really appreciate this homemaker series, I want to enjoy the mundane tasks around the house, and listening to a podcast is my best strategy. Also beautifying the home and smiling at my family makes it fun instead of drugery. I like how Lisa has Christian women with diffrent convictions on the podcast just to talk about God's oderained role for women.😍LOVE this channel.

Where do you store important paperwork etc? Ive kawyss wondered in hones like this where thise things are. Ive mastered the soace declutter and minimalism except for the paperwork and thise sort of random thins that seem to never have a home

I am typing while listening (and nursing right now)
So funny, I recently started listening to their podcast and found them on TH-cam just a couple weeks ago. I too am a Mennonite (though I have been one for ten years, where they grew up in it, but I was raised similarly), so I was excited to find them on here. I loved listening to the three of you speaking, since I enjoy all your perspectives on life.
I was like Jayna, I always wanted to marry young and be a mom and I did that (married at 20, became a mom at 23 - I'll be 40 in a few days).
I feel like mornings are easy for our family. We are all early birds. I think bedtime was the hardest for us when our oldest kids were younger.
Maybe you should start having your kids to do their own laundry and they won't have issues mixing anything up? I started doing my own laundry at 7 or 8. I started doing my brother's laundry for him at 10 (he paid me) but then I also did my husband's laundry for him since he was 17 and we were dating. haha. My sons fold and put away their laundry and have since they were about 6 or 7.
I love finding comfort in the mundane too. I also like staying on top of things and don't let things pile up. I like that there was a cleaning day set in Megan's family.
If Lisa says there is enough time, there is enough time. That is like my one best friend who had 7 kids, she had a very clean house and used to (I speak in past tense because she died after childbirth complications) tell people they had time to do things and keep a clean house too but they just had to DO those things and get up and work on them.

Gosh, when I was raising my kids was planning things for certain days of the week but never on . Then the kids would know that if we get certain things done then we can leave earlier in the morning for the playdates, or going swimming .
