Awesome progress! Me and my brother are putting a full 05 STi swap in a 2001 Impreza RS coupe. We have the motor and trans in so far and we are putting the suspension in tomorrow. It has a full race turbo kit with a Borg Warner turbo, Mishimoto radiator, Fortune Auto coilovers, titanium exhaust, Timken wheel bearings and hubs, White Line everything and much more. Your channel is inspiration for us to get it done. I can't wait until she owns the streets.
Awesome! When I started my rebuilt EJ20x for the first time, the thing would barely idle, wanted to die all the time. Drove me nuts thinking I had botched timing or something. Came back the next day with a fresh head, followed the odd vacuum noise i was not hearing, saw the brake booster hose wasn't hooked up! Attached the hose, it ran like a top! That was a good day.
iWire seem like such a cool company with great products and knowledge, hope you make stuff for the EZ30 as well, I’ll be coming to you guys🤙 Sick stuff Bucky, look forward to the next video 🤘
The intro about the dowels... I swear at the dealership there were a thousands times I got clutch splines lined up perfectly with the trans splines only to realize I had double dowels. The ultra Subaru headache!!
Keeping it as stock as possible is the goal of this one. I’ll be putting exhaust and maybe a couple bolt ons but really want to enjoy a comfy quick daily.
BuckYeah makes total sense. Especially for any needed Carb certification on the exhaust. You already have the built Bucket for the stiff suspension and what not. Makes sense to keep this new. “ daily “ as comfy as possible. Nice work!
Aww, you left the green brackets of death on... I always take those off the first chance I get to make future injector swaps easy. Also, love the MD ink, born in Baltimore, raised in Montgomery Co. myself.
Oh $hit...harbor freight cherrypicker. Knowing that, I found myself anally clenching while the engine was being lowered. Every time I hear Lance's voice, it reminds me of someone who had a lung full of helium. Maybe one day he'll hit puberty. J/k respect your knowledge on Subies bruh. Nice work guys...can't wait to see the fruits of your labor, Mr Lasek.
Lance would much rather wrench than speak. I always have to stop him from getting too far ahead of me filming. He loves hearing himself on these videos 😂
Congrats on the start! Today's questions: 😀 Where did you source the power steering reservoir bracket? Did it fit straight in, or did it require drilling? I sourced one from a 2000+ Outback, but it doesnt line up to existing holes. 😐 Were there things on the strut tower before you added the iWire bracket? I honestly have no idea what that thing is on my tower, or if I'll still need it after the 205 goes in. Finally, how much exhaust did you have on for this first start? And what is it? Did the stock STi exhaust fit your RS? Thanks, Bucky!
@@iwiresubaruwiringsolutions5538 Thanks for response. I've read on forums that without MAF connected it would run but when tested on my ej205 it always died or refused to start without it. Good job on videos by the way. I may have to do the same swap at some point but my main worry is not able to pass smog test with JDM ECU. On the other hand if using USDM ECU the AVCS would not work.
Dude... iWire is G.O.A.T.
Also... IT STARTED!!! GG, boys and girls!
Thanks!
This right here, man... This is the dream! Bunch of buddies throwin' an engine in, lots of laughs, a few hijinks. Life - you're doin' it right!
I believe it’s the only way 👊🏼😉
Everyone watch till the end..you deserve that!
Haha
These videos are the best. So much knowledge combined with just down right pure Subaru enthusiasm. Can't wait to see you take it out.

You going to slap some stiffer motor mounts on the girl? That EJ is bucking around all over your bay.

Do it!!
BUCK YEA!!!!

Next episode shows power steering bracket which I drilled out and ran the bumper bolt through and it’s only down pipe only on start up.
Beauty. Thx, Bucky!
My name is Eric, and I like to overthink things.
to prime the turbo with oil you guys just did the cranking of the engine?
No question with an IWire merged harness.
Note to self you don’t want Bucky’s dessert!!!
Hold the whip cream please😉
BuckYeah Hahahaha 😝🤙🏼
Welcome to the Bucky Butt Crack Show...lol!!!!!!!!!
Bucky all kidding aside this is another great episode (Butt Crack aside)
Crack kills!
How the hell is the underside of that hood so clean
Attention to detail👍🏼
Nice! I may have missed this but what are you using for the ecu? OEM?
OEM ECU for the engine
What clutch did you install?
How can it idle without IC... does not cause a massive vacuum leak?
The MAF is unplugged it runs on what is essentially a simplified Speed density map so it doesn't care about the vacuum leak.
