I have made a video recently about a nice photography walk with my Vitomatic IIa, where I ended up with only 7 photos on a roll of 36 (all the other ones were completely black), so that's what must have happened! I am going to share a link to your video under my video !
Thanks! Yes, it has a viewfinder - not a rangefinder, so you won’t see any focusing aids (split image) when you look through it. Other models of this camera have a rangefinder. The film tip is excellent, good thinking!
Brilliant! That was my first thought.... film to get shutter to work (like the old 126 instamatics). The film needs to advance over the catch to cock the shutter. I got mine this evening and mine is near mint condition. The light meter works perfectly and the leather case is perfect as well. I shoot tomorrow. How have your pictures turned out? Would love to see some results. Zone focusing takes some getting use to, but the lens on these little German cameras are spectacular... Thanks.

You can also crack it by hand without film to test it
