Beautiful! Just a tip for sharpening your pencils...if you hold the pencil still and turn the sharpener instead, you will have much less of a chance of the cores breaking or the wood splintering. It's a tip I got from MissLadyPetal here on TH-cam. I've tried it and it made a huge difference!
*****, they sure are worth it! I've had my set for around 9 or 10 years now and although I haven't used them much lately, they are amazing quality, blend beautifully, and last for what seems like forever! I love how you can take something so simple and turn it into simplistic beauty with those pencils, like your page here. :)
I have crayola colored pencils which work for my skill level and what I use them for. I have been wanting to do something different with them, so I'm glad you posted this video.
Thank you for this video. I don't consider myself artistic but I want to start underlining and writing notes in my Bible using colored pencils and I wasn't sure which type to get. (Verithin vs Soft Core vs Erasable). After watching your video it looks like Soft Core will be a good choice. And I may even try my hand at some art projects!
Many thanks, Rebekah. I have a quick question about pencil crayons specifically. I have used them in journals before, and been disappointed that the colour transfers to the opposing page. I see that you do not have this problem. How do you prevent it? Once I gain confidence that I can overcome this, I can start back into scripture in a new way! Only God knows what a blessing you are to your online community. (Yes, I subscribed and pinned you, and followed your blog and joined your email list and clicked links to everything!)
While the scholar ones aren't bad they are not as soft or as pigmented as the premier. You may not have noticed it yourself but if you do much layering or blending in your work there is a noticeable difference although the scholar pencils are certainly better than crayola's or other children's brands. If you are not doing a lot of blending etc. the scholar's are fine but again they don't have as large a range of colors and are not available open stock so if you run out of one you do have to buy a whole new set. That can end up costing you more than the premier's if you use them a lot..
The prismacolor premier colored pencils also are available open stock and most art stores. The great thing about that is you are not limited if you can only afford a smaller set to start, as you can add to your set a couple of pencils at a time until you have all the colors that you want. It also allows you NOT to buy those colors you don't like or don't feel you will use. I started with a set of 72 which I found on sale at amazon, and then over the next couple of years picked up a few pencils at a time until I had the entire set. Most of your art quality colored pencils are available open stock, if not at your local store then try dickblick.com or jerry's artorama, both which have a good selection of brands.
I'm getting ready to buy a journaling Bible. Which size would you recommend between the two you show in this video? What are the pros and cons to each of the sizes?
i have all the spectrum Noir color pencils and waiting for my journaling Bible to arrive. have you tried spectrum noir pencils? or heard they are good/bad for Bible art?
If I just want to use colored pencils to underline favorite passages in my Bible, is it ok to use Prismacolor Scholar Colored Pencils? They cost less, but they have a harder core and I'm concerned that they might damage the thin, delicate Bible paper.Or should I still use Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils?
Hi there. You mention you had to get permission Did you mean permission from TH-cam? Are there certain things regarding religion and one practicing what they believe in concerning their faith will not be aired?
Me and Grandmother are doing this Bible journaling and we have had a blast!!
My favorite colored pencils art! I love the shading process in how you did this. Thank you!
It's a fun simple process! xx
From 2015! But needed in 2019! Thank you. I’ve learned so much from you. 🌷

Loved this Rebekah! I have these colored pencils, but have very little experience with them. This looks extremely easy and I will give it a try! ❤

I love your videos. They encourage me to start journaling too, even though I am not artistic. God bless you and please continue posting videos

Their scholastic level pencils Are much cheaper and there is no noticeable difference. I have both sets :)

Do you recommend Crayola Colored Pencils to color in your Bible Journaling?
The twistables ones blend really nicely.
