Man what memories of the Ville! I spent many of nights at Top Hat listening to the same music play on repeat (probably still is on repeat) and standing on the bar with good friends. Some aren't here anymore, but this was a great trip down memory lane! 🤘🏻
A lot of those stores are the same as I last saw them in September of 1986. Brings back a lot of memories... I remember buying stuff in those stores and hanging out in some of them. This video is quite a bit different from what I first saw in November of 1979! Progress went quickly there. In hind sight, I probably should have stayed out of the bars, though. If a fight broke out in a bar, your best option was to get out of there very quickly...the MPs would arrest every single GI in the place, regardless of whether you took part or minded your own business. Loved getting to know some of the business owners and locals.
Oh, and I mail-ordered some VHS videos from a place in the US--but they never got to me. They were somewhat obscure B-movie monster films that not just everyone would have wanted. They finally showed up in one of the downtown Video Stores; I didn't bother to ask the owner where he got them...
Thank you for sharing! We lived in the vile and I graduated high school (SAHS) in 89. We lived at the Hump. You brought back so many memories! Glad you didn't get a video of me at the pink flamingo with my friends drinking jungle juice!
I shared the link with some other people who lived at the Hump and at Osan back in the day. They loved it! Thank you for preserving this gem. This was our home as crazy as it was. I can't believe how much it has changed. I have been back to Korea a few times over the past few years. Humphreys and Osan are megabases now... We used to have to drive to Seoul everyday for school! I was the only teenage girl over 16 at the base for an entire year! There were only 16 school age dependents over the age of 12....Three of them were in my family!!! Such a different world back then!
I remember a few nights stumbling down "Ricochet Alley" - and that goddamn open manhole- Got a scar from falling down that when some asshole stole the damn lid.
I was stationed there in 1979. I had a great time and great memories of duffy club. Tophat. And seven clubs.

Thanks. I was there during Team Spirit in 89. I remember Anjeong-ri as a one road town. Totally enjoyed it. Can't wait ti visit 31 years later.
Thank you. I was there 87 to 90.
Same time I was there
Was there in 84/85 looks a lot more memorable than what I see in newer videos.
