    In your opinion: what state or city in Mexico has the best enchiladas?
    If you haven't had the chance to try enchiladas in mexico, how do you like them when you order them in the US, Canada, or elsewhere?

    • @savaranola611
      @savaranola611 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Rioverde/ San Ciro, some of the best enchiladas in the country, and Suizas which are from Mexico City.

    Hey Kinnetic Kennons! Woah where to begin! I've been waiting and hoping that you guys would make a video of Zacatecas, it's where my parents and all my family are from! I definitely need to go again to Zacatecas, Zacatecas, there is just always something new to explore in this beautiful city! And Greg you are right, it definitely has a mixture of European and indigenous elements to it that makes this city so unique. I would suggest you all go up to El Cerro de la Bufa and get a cool perspective of the city while atop there. There's also cable cars that takes you from atop the cerro down into the city. I've also heard la Mina de Eden is a pretty sweet place to check out, literally a cave with tunnels used back in the day for mining purposes now turned into a bar. Oh and not to mention La Quemada! It's an archaeological site not too far from the capital of Zacatecas. I went there a few years ago and it's pretty cool, not too bad in regards to the walking you do there, but it does show you and teach you a little more about the obscure history of Mexico and how it came to me. ALL IN ALL Zacatecas is an amazing city, beautiful in its own way, with its own charm that I am glad you guys are checking out, thank you guys for showing us the beauty that is the real Mexico. Thank you guys for uploading these videos and using TH-cam as a platform about your experiences that will hopefully reach out to those that may have otherwise ill-informed notions about OUR beautiful country! Muchisimas gracias! Saludos! Happy traveling and greetings from Chicago!

    En nuestro viaje de luna de miel mi esposa y yo pasamos por Zacatecas en 1999, yo pensaba que era una ciudad común pero su belleza colonial nos enamoró, desde entonces ya hemos ido como seis veces. El año pasado fuimos y regresamos el mismo día, comimos gorditas, dulces, panes y nieves... saludos desde Monterrey.

    Another beautiful city. I've never seen a bull ring either. My first impression was that it reminded me of the Roman colosseums, except smaller. I remember passing just through the edge of town on a bus trip back to Monterrey but I didn't see anything cool like that. Have a great time.

    • @kinetickennons
      @kinetickennons  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      oh yeah---I have never seen Roman colosseums but it does sort of look like pictures I have seen!

    • @oscarfalco2678
      @oscarfalco2678 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Betty A The biggest bull ring is in Mexico City. Spain , Mexico, Peru, Colombia i think are the only spanish speking countries that have bull rings. You will need a hole life to know all of Mexico.

    • @BettyA
      @BettyA 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Oscar Falco I knew about the bull fights in Spain but not Mexico and the other countries. Do they still fight the bulls? You're right about needing a lifetime to explore. Thanks for the reply.

    • @oscarfalco2678
      @oscarfalco2678 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Betty A Yes. There stiil there in Mexico. Also in Mexico , we still fight cock fights. In big rings were people sit and watch , with live singers. There called Palenques. The USA had these also about 20 years ago . But animal rights made it illegal to fight them. That was in Arizona, Texas , Alabama, Tennessee etc all tge souht. But theres still ranchers that breed theme but cant fight them . A lot of them move to Mexico or the Philippines to breed them and fight them. They are also very expensive . Two hens and one Ruster can cost 5,000 Dollars. There pure blood lines . Just like a fine horse or a cow. The biggest palenques in Mexico are in the big cities. Most of these are rich farmers, ranchers cattle breeders , pig farmers etc.

    • @BettyA
      @BettyA 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Oscar Falco It's sad that they're still doing the cock fights, or anything similar. You really know what's going on. Thank you for your detailed answer.

    Yes! The weather is always excellent. Around July is the rainy season in this area along with San Luis and Aguascalientes. If it interests you, and is safe, there are also many Ranchería Fiesta Patronales in many places. Those are more rural fiestas that take in a lot of different celebrations for saints. I love Zacatecas !!!! I’m so glad you enjoyed your visit !!!

    Mexican-American here, my family is from the state of Zacatecas - mom from Fresnillo, dad from Jerez - and Jerez is *GORGEOUS* by the way. I've visited so many times there to see my relatives and one of the things I remember vividly as a kid, was how sad I was when my time drew closer for my departure back to the States. There's a sense of freedom in Mexico that is completely lacking over here. The last time I was there though, I noticed how much tourism dropped because of the violence that has hit really hard, and it truly pains me. Before that, I remember seeing so many tourists from around the world there, and it made me so immensely proud, because Mexico is such a beautiful jewel of a country. I sincerely hope it changes soon, for everyone's sake. Enjoy your stay and show everyone how awesome Zacatecas is ;)

    I had the chance to stay at the Quinta real when I went to Zacatecas which is the last stop on this video. It is BEAUTIFUL! There’s a bar on the ground floor that you absolutely have to visit.

    Take the Teleferico (Swiss cable cars) across the city. Go on the Mina del Eden tour (colonial era mine), or the museum of the Mexican Revolution at the top of the mountain (Cerro de La Bufa). Also there are several great modern art museums such as Pedro Coronel, Museo Francisco Goitia, Museo Manuel Felguerez. If you want to see colonial era New Spain (1400s-1700s) artwork (among the best examples in Mexico) you can go to the Museo de Guadalupe. You will find many of these museums housed in beautiful buildings that were once either colonial era monasteries, nunneries, or some Catholic subgroup (Jesuits, Benedictines, Franciscans, Dominicans, Carmelites, etc.). Zacatecas was one of the main cities, if not the principle city from where a lot of Spanish Catholic missionaries set out to evangelize the natives in what is today northern Mexico (including Monterrey), and the southwest US (including California, Texas, and New Mexico). For indigenous artwork you can visit the Museo Zacatecano which is in what was once the official state coin Mint/Treasury. Zacatecas is renown for having a lot of museums.
    Also if you have a day or two, I might suggest you take a day trip or side trip to the town of Jerez. Just like the capital of the state (Zacatecas), Jerez is a town full of colonial era buildings (1400s-1800s), gardens (which if you look closely you will see some of religious influences the immigrants brought with them from Spain--Judaism, Islam, and Christianity), and a theater (just like in Queretaro). For that reason it is designated a Pueblo Magico. It's small and easy to walk around the main historic squares.

    Now that you're in Zacatecas you need to visit Sombrerete, a pueblo magico, no too far from Zac. It is very beautiful both day and night. Pretty much right next to it there's Parque Nacional Sierra de Organos, it's rock formations are impressive. A lot of American western movies were filmed in that ntl park. About two hours or less from that park there's Durango city, another colonial city, but different than Zacatecas. Museo Nacional de Pancho Villa, Villas de Oeste -a western cinematography set- where a lot of John Wayne's movies were filmed. Durango has many things to offer, including scorpion tacos.

    Wow! The Aqueduct is as BEAUTIFUL as the one in Querétaro, but with its own proper distinction and uniqueness! The one in Morelia, a bit like the one in Querétaro, but shorter in size. As for the pink stone used for the buildings and all, it really enhances the charm of Zacatecas, never been there, only to nearby Fresnillo, after viewing this upload yet another MUST SEE added to the 'bucket list'! :)
