I was brought up in Italy by strict jesuits ( the most indoctrinated priests amongst the Catholics), and studied the Bible in Ancient Greek translating it to Latin. They NEVER taught us to see the stories in the Bible from a strict historical point of view, and instead to read the message they brought. The priests underlined that the MODERNITY of the Bible’s message comes from this method of leveling with us through stories, metaphors. For this reason I immediately resonated with Neville’s teachings. I hope I am bringing some clarity and comfort to those Christian souls who fear disrespecting their religion by following Neville’s and Tom’s message of Love.
Yes! I love firstoff that you never subscribe to dogma -- we can respect a teacher without necessarily endorsing every single thing they say. And secondly, this idea that "all things are possible" came to me recently while watching a detective show in which a woman claims to have been abducted by aliens. At first the two detectives are skeptical, but eventually they realize that even from a purely "rational" standpoint, in the woman's reality, this experience was very real, and furthermore, you could never 100% make a case that all alien abduction stories are false because we exist in a universe in which all things are possible!
