This is the first backing track I've played to, and I must say, excellent job! I'm not very good at walking bass lines yet, but just playing notes in the scale seemed to work fine! lol
I usually loop my own backing tracks, but i gotta say, never has a Emb2 and Fmaj#4 sounded better, than played over this. Really nice chord structure, very open.
I concur with others who have said how great your music is. You how to deliver. I love playing the blues scales to this even there is no bass. Thanks A Million!!!
I found just noodling on C maj 7/A min /D min7 scales with I think E7 Phrygian anywhere you want loads of fun. Great excercise for avoiding playing roots ,walking and soloing Sounded cool to me. Great track, thanks.
EXCELLENT!! The HIT'S just keep a coming! Nice and up beat. A little to fast for me to walk, BUT 3 roots and a passing work just fine!!!! Thank you Thank you
The notes in E Phrygian dominant are E-F-G#-A-B-C-D and if we start from A, we have the A minor scale with his major 7, maybe that’s why it works, they share the same notes, I don’t know hahaha
@@walteryockdewitt7209 That's right, the notes in E phrygian dominant are the same as the notes in A harmonic minor. edit: he also seems to have made the 5 chord dominant, the major third of a dominant 5 chord in the key of A is G#, so that explains why it sounds good.
It’s one bar of dm, one bar of g and one bar of c. A minor is the relative minor key to C major. So you would think of it from the perspective of C major.
Ultra newbie question here. I've been playing for 2 weeks and I've just discovered the backing tracks. When you say 2-5-1, you are referring to the 2nd, 5th, and 1st modes of the Am scale, correct? Love the grove and can't wait to play with it.
It’s more common to make the 5 chord a dominant as it leads to the 1 minor chord. So A harmonic minor scale is used, which means E Spanish Phrygian (Phrygian with a major 3rd)
Great! Could you please explain E Dominant 7? (v). The ii in the minor scale is half dim (Bm7b5), the i is the tonic (Am7), and the v is a....minor(?) Wouldn't the G be the VII(dominant7)?, or in this case G7..... thanks!!!!, dazed & confused..... i ii° III iv v VI VII A B C D E F G
Hi, in a minor II-V-I, the Em is substitued by E7 to create a tension to land on the I chord. You can atlterate the V (E7 in this case) by adding a b13 or a b9 / #9 to accentuate the tension. Or you can also play the V as a simple minor chord, but it sounds too "kind". Hope it's help you and sorry for my bad english. Cheers !
Can OZTOPRAK That chord substitution thing!. I need to understand this better. It opens up more creative possibilities! Thank you for your response, and your English is just fine :-)
Thanks for jamming this one hard!! Here's a similar but simpler jazz play-along for bass in Am th-cam.com/video/thtilhatc2Y/w-d-xo.html
Great!! Thank You very much!
Thank you!
I got high and jammed to this like I never jammed before, realized how much I improved, lovely music thank you very much!
bro i just got high af and I'm playing to this
me too man, i dont realize how i improve before play this, obvious im not a pro, but i can create something really cool
Hell yes! Creating stuff and getting lost in the music is what its all about.
You need to smoke before playing jazz, it's the unspoken rule!
This is the best warm up backing track. Perfect for dancing around the neck and getting the fingers moving without feeling too restricted.
It sounds like people are playing the instruments and lets me get into it so much more, thank you.
:)))

Yay!!
Walking bass lines are wack
I usually loop my own backing tracks, but i gotta say, never has a Emb2 and Fmaj#4 sounded better, than played over this. Really nice chord structure, very open.
funny you should mention it but I also fell into the A4/d5 groove for a little while...
Looking through the comments I am definitely the least skilled here but I gotta say this is great to play the kazoo to
I love the backing track,I especially enjoyed trying to figure out how to get out of scale and experiment with chromaticism
I concur with others who have said how great your music is. You how to deliver. I love playing the blues scales to this even there is no bass. Thanks A Million!!!
shecter diamond Thank you :) Have fun.. here's the track WITH bass btw.. th-cam.com/video/Mir959i7F2M/w-d-xo.html
I think it’s supposed to be for Bass lol

I am in a jazz fusion band, and most of my stuff is improv, so this helps a lot! Just to have something to jam with.
:))
Amazing i can listen to this all night
I took it a step further by forgetting to look at the time while playing
Thanks for this. I also suggest diminished ST scale for E7/9#
Saving this baby for practice. Great style!
+Gloria Brown awesome, thanks
Well deserved> Now I have a band I can practice with 24/7!
This is a great tool! thamkyou soo very much for posting this and god bless you.
:)))
EXCELLENT!!
The HIT'S just keep a coming!
Nice and up beat.
A little to fast for me to walk, BUT 3 roots and a passing work just fine!!!!
Thank you Thank you
Excellent - have fun!!! And thank you :)

This is great. I just wish it had some kick drum to groove along to.

:)))
Excellent! :)
thx brother.. i like your channel jamming😍
🙏🙌
Thank you mr.
love it, but I gotta say I prefer waaay more Em instead of E7. anyway... thanks!
Playing in e phrygian dominant goes smoothly over this, can someone please explain to me the theory behind it?
Research music theory for whatever instruments you play in Phrygian dominate E
The notes in E Phrygian dominant are E-F-G#-A-B-C-D and if we start from A, we have the A minor scale with his major 7, maybe that’s why it works, they share the same notes, I don’t know hahaha

Thank you! Very usefull!
Do we have the entire chords sequence? This sounds to me like Autumn Leaves
How can I improve my bass playing with those tracks? Any advices? When playing to this track I just find all the A's on keyboard noodle around.
+Murathan Yeşiloğlu try and learn the 3 chords on the track
+tabtab tob And then what?
throw here i cant tell you. but check out scottdevine channel on walking bass lesson, sure it will help
+tabtab tob Okay. Thanks a lot dude
So am I to understand thats it one bar of the B. one bar of the E the 2 bars of the Am and it repeats over and over like that?
It’s one bar of dm, one bar of g and one bar of c. A minor is the relative minor key to C major. So you would think of it from the perspective of C major.
can you get an mp3 or whatever of this?

Well looks like I'm a little late but maybe i can still help, 2 5 1is referring to the chord progression, B diminished to E minor to A minor
What's 2 5 1 supposed.to.mean?
nice!!
genial, gracias
+Rafael Velasco :) Enjoy!
It's about 12:00 min and still the opening animation...
E7 why ? the 5th it's a E phrygian, correct?
It’s more common to make the 5 chord a dominant as it leads to the 1 minor chord. So A harmonic minor scale is used, which means E Spanish Phrygian (Phrygian with a major 3rd)
brilliant!!! Any chance for all keys? for bass of course?
a,b,c,d,e,f,g,a
Any key oops thanks
good
would i be able to take it and add it to a song i'm making or is that copyright
2-5-1 is universal my friend. Play a melody with it and copyright the heck out it.

Why do I feel the 4 leads more than the 2? I understand that Dmin6 and Bmin7b5 have the same notes, but why am I so compelled to play the Dmin6?
This is a great video by the way!
nice nice nice
+rikinoki :)
Dont know where I got DM7 ( 2) G dom (5) C maj 7 (1) Stuck in the major key I guess LOL
Well....the Dm7 does count as a sub. Treat like a minor ii with a flat 5 and it's all good
Autumn leaves!
What's this type of beat called?
I know "walking bassline" cos bassist
But sounds not in the key of C
👍🏻🙏🙏
4 5 1 not 2 5 1
Nope, but playing a D does work as it'll be first inversion of Bm7b5
