what an incredible story. I resonate so much with her - especially giving away all her stuff (a constant point of contention when I was a kid with my parents). I think children naturally understand injustice and rightly see the solution as simple - share what you have and don't need with others. She was such a strong woman, to resist the predators who came a-wooing and all her other adventures - what a ferociously free person.
Absolutely lovely content! Love the idea of bringing attention to more women anarchists. Emma Goldman is great, but we do tend to forget all other non-men anarchists
I'm not entirely sure that attempting to summon Satan is a chaotic good thing to do but I can certainty relate, though my disappointment was with the lesser key of Solomon, Enochian magic and then witchcraft in general.
Having been on a kick before to read all the demonic/magic texts I could get my hands on, that should be a perfect opportunity to talk people out of belief in that kind of system or faith. Those kinds of beliefs, it's my estimation, came from always having about 3% of the population that was either OCD, schizophrenic, suffering some fever or health related delusion, or sarcastic/grifting. Did you know that an absurd amount of icelanding magic had to do with conjuring intollerable gas in thieves? It's just, "the secret," or any other silly motivational/mnemonic device, but with the same poison chaser of taking it literally. The only demons to fear are recurring patterns of highly suggestible and delusional people. I don't fear the demons the Queen's advisor made up in a room to equivocate his abuse of minors; I'm far more concerned about the Queen and her team of ritual abusers and psychopaths who are the living example of the demons they shift blame onto
The D&D refference reminded me of a working idea I have: rol players have a tendency to anarchism due to the comprehention of abstract systems and its influence on behaviour
I believe she also fought against the colonisers after her exile to Australia, which is what we admire a lot more. We learnt about her from the crimethinc podcast think it's called?
This story by her is beautiful, “Marthe’s Fifty-Cent Piece” Translation of Louise Michel’s “Les dix sous de Marthe.” in Le livre du jour de l’an: histoires, contes et legends pour les enfants (Paris: J. Brare, 1872) pp. 28-34. By Julianna Kramer
After several rescue operations, the sea rescue ship "Louise Michel" brought around 180 migrants ashore in Italy. The authorities on Lampedusa then arrested the ship. Something like this happened more often in the past, but this time a new law was broken. Advertisement The Italian authorities have temporarily detained the German sea rescue ship "Louise Michel" in the port of the island of Lampedusa. The crew of the ship, also known as the Banksy boat because of its pink paintwork, brought around 180 migrants ashore to Lampedusa on Saturday after a total of four rescue operations in the Mediterranean, the Coast Guard announced on Sunday. However, the crew violated a new law of the legal government in Italy: It states that after an initial rescue operation, a port must be headed for immediately instead of possibly carrying out several rescues. According to the crew, the Coast Guard assigned the port of the western Sicilian city of Trapani to the port after the first mission off the Libyan coast. However, the ship carried out three more rescue operations and picked up people.
This is bringing back my itch to do something like this about Durruti. A digestible summary of the wildness of his life, so to speak. My voice is shit tho
I'm not certain it would interest you, but apart from Peter Watkins's La Commune (long version), which I've had the delightful pleasure of seeing eleven times, in general, Solveig Anspach made a film called Louis Michel I believe I saw twice. It does not necessarily add to the type of knowledge you are seeking, but I thought it would interest you to know it exists. Regarding male anarchists, I suppose you already know of the television series made about Nestor Makhno, of what quality I do not know since my Russian has not reached the right level yet.

@Make America Gay Again well yes, you can take ideas from both Marxism and anarchism. I myself am an anarchist, but I do support dialectic and historical materialism. So to some extent, you can be a Marxist on some issues and an anarchist on others.

I will be covering de Cleyre at some point. Neither Wollstonecraft or Luxemburg were anarchists and so won't be covered. Although videos about them could be part of a separate project.
People keep calling her lesser known when there are probably more schools libraries statues etc named after her in France compared to pretty much any anarchist globally 😂
If you could find something, Maria Lacerda de Moura would be an interesting woman to listen about. Not many people talk about her, even in Brasil, even though many anarchists mention at least her most famous work.
I saw a play about her. In it, she said that she really didn't understand what Anarchism was, but welcomed them as allies, so long as they were against Napoleon the third, as she was. Was the play writer wrong?
Michel became an anarchist after the Paris Commune and so after Napoleon III fell from power. She later wrote an article called "why I am an anarchist". www.libertarian-labyrinth.org/anarchist-beginnings/louise-michel-why-i-am-an-anarchist-1896/
Scaring bourgeois might be a good hobby to let come back
I run into this in conversation alot. Your store manager is not bourgeoisie, you most likely have never in person, physically met one.
BOO jwasee! 👻
Be the change you want to see ✨️
@@randcall5933 Can't run into them if you're not looking for them.
We know where they are, we just can't "find" them.
What a legend
Indeed✌🏼I would love to see Zoe do a video on African-American Anarchist Lucy Parsons.
Louise Michel was a chaotic good warlock / rogue multiclass
What a straightforward way to figure out the Devils not real lol

so true about children understanding injustice!
It's unfortunate that Michel probably never got to encounter her spiritual ally the raccoon, as it's a New World animal.
I want to be her when I grow up, what great role model.
In case anyone didn’t know, the antlers thing at 5:50 refers to folklore about cuckholds growing antlers
I really love these mini-bios and stories about lesser known Anarchists that you produce. Thank you so much for your time and effort! ♥🖤
Role model of the year
love the drawings

Cute raccoons.
I love your illustrations
Thank you, Zoe, you are making an enormous contribution to our discourse.

I: Could you please elaborate for those of us who haven't (yet) played D&D? Sounds like a fascinating line of thought
Love the stories and love the raccoons.
I love how she literally tried to summon Satan, the guy didn't show up and she went:
"Well, that settles it. Atheism it is then."
4:27 minutes “Trolling a policeman”

Mary Wollstonecraft? (technically)
